Do condoms prevent a man from being able to catch herpes or genital warts?

Long answer: Depends what else you do and what kind of contact you have. You can catch herpes from blowjobs if you don't use a condom

Not always they significantly reduce the risk but if there are sores on her thighs the condom will not protect from that and constant friction on the thigh skin area can cause the hairs to rip out causing the herpes simplex virus to get in... just be careful.

It just sucks knowing that chicken pox is a herpes family virus... and it never fully goes away and is what causes shingles.
