Well I attended Savoy's seminar on Female Psychology last Thursday held at Johnny Wolf's place. This is my review.
Before I go on, allow me to say that I have a lot of respect for Savoy. Magic Bullets was the second thing I ever read on pickup. I found it enlightening and useful. I was excited to meet him and I do think it is great to open female psychology as a topic for discussion. But I have to say that this seminar was less than stellar.
Here are some of Savoy's insights:
-Women lie about how many men they have slept with. It is actually much higher than the number they claim!
-Women don't always want men to solve their problems. Sometimes, they just want to be listened to!
-Women sometimes just talk for the pleasure of talking and not so much to communicate information!
-It is important to win over her friends to win over a woman!
Shall I go on? You could get these female psychology tips from Everyone Loves Raymond. I kept waiting for this to turn into something brilliant, hoping he was building to some conclusion, but no dice. It turns out that Men are from Mars and Woman are from Venus. Thank you, Dr Phil.
This all seems like basic knowledge to me. Maybe it was a talk targeted for this audience. Remember, the cost was $20. The crowd was mostly college kids. They may be at a point in life in which they got a lot of use out of this information.
When asked what books he recommended on female psychology he suggested watching Sex in the City.... I think that says it all right there.
He did have a few tips that I thought were useful. For example, if you and your wing bring back two girls, make sure your wing makes it loud when he starts getting it on with his girl. That will signal to her friend that it is socially okay for her to follow through as well. Large mixed sets are better for one night stands because it is likely they came in several cars and she would not be abandoning a friend by leaving with you. Fine. Moderately useful.
What really gets me about this talk is his estimation of LA HB10's. I no longer live in LA so I cannot really say he is wrong but according to Savoy you must assume that they are addicted to coke, will go along with anything their friends do and have slept with at least 50 men by the time they are 25. Now, do I believe Savoy is accurately describing some women? Sure. But thinking that every beautiful woman is a drug-addicted, flighty ho-bag is not a positive frame. Personally, I feel it is misogynistic.
It just makes me appreciate someone like Johnny Soporno so much more. If you want to learn female psychology, he is still the go-to guy IMHO.
