FYI, this is with an HB8 who I'd known 4 years earlier but haven't really hung out with since. She moved away to college. We were never together. 1 month ago, I noticed she changed her hair color so I figured it was the perfect opportunity to neg her on Facebook:

Bellini (1 month ago): "Cool hair. When are you going back to brunette?"

HB8 (1 month ago): "i AM brunette!! haha it just loooooks kinda blonde. ill never be a true blonde....! how r u?"

I choose not to respond because I figured either she'd get in touch or I'd find another reason later, I had no reason to keep an online discussion going when she lives far away from me in college. Sure enough, my gf and I break up 1 month later (saw it coming) and I change my status on Facebook to:

"Bellini is newly single after 3.5 years, he's feeling :) :/ :(."

HB8 (recently, 1 hour after my single status): "Bellini!! im going to be home [from college] for the next week and a half. we should get together and go to lunch or coffee. let me know!"

Bellini (still going with the hair neg): "hey HB8. getting together sounds great. i only do lunch with brunettes so we might have to settle for coffee."

HB8 (same day): "well lucky for you i went back to brunette three weeks ago. ill give you a call when i get into town!"

Bellini (same day): "haha! talk with you then"

Definitely looking forward to meeting up with the HB8. If you have any any constructive feedback, I'd definitely appreciate it.

I love the cocky-funny lines. She's clearly jumping through your hoops which is a good sign. She re-opened you and stuff, etc etc.

I'd recommened to avoid "closing the deal" over the net/phone. Your job is to get the meeting set up and make sure your future actions are not making her consider flaking.

Doing quite well. Take your time. Take your time.

And bring a condom or two.

Thanks man. Things seem to be working out well so far. I'm just going to take things 1 step at a time and not have any expectations. Good call on the condom :)
