Hi all;
I'm interested in starting small group of PUA's that are working on graduate projects for Psych or Sociology degrees. I'm interested in writing scientific articles giving this community a stronger ground to stand on. If you're interested in being part of this project or have information to share. Please e-mail me or respond here.

I'm currently working on a degree in psychology and communication. I feel that the latter applies better to PU, from my experience.

I'm also a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology. Nice if we could exchange ideas for post graduate studies. I'm looking into doing a thesis on NLP. It would be a novelty if I could be able to do so.

Still in college and working on my psychology degree with a minor in buisness. However doing stuff like this wouldn't hurt for when I do begin my graduate courses so I'd definetly like to help.

An awesome thread, is a great idea to give this some proper serious scientific grounding.

I'm from Math and Physics background, having taught that at University. Though not much use for this!

I'm still watering down the subject of the proposed thesis... I'm thinking about doing something like "The effectiveness of Neuro-Linguistic Programming in curing phobias compared to disensitization therapy -- A comparative study" or something like that. I intend to put NLP under empirical study. This could be a long, hard and expensive endeavor but it could be worth it.

Best of luck with this. MEDLINE only has 39 articles under the Neurolinguistic Programming subject heading, few of which are relevant or scientifically interesting. General reference sources (eg, Wikipedia) indicate that it is at best unproven. Designing a good study is going to be very difficult.

I'd be careful here in using wikipedia as a reference regarding NLP, now I don't know for sure that much about what is really true about it.... (is on my "to do list" to find out! lol) but what I do know is that the NLP article on wikipedia has been having a lot of edit waring and controversy. Thus it might not be entirely accurate in tone. At least.
