View Full Version : Peacocking: Mohawk too extreme?

As I work on my avatar, I've come to the point of choosing what to do with my hair.

A little ways back I had lost a bet with a friend and had to get a mohawk as my half of the bet. I was unaware of the community at the time, but I was getting IOI's left and right because of it. Argh, if only I'd have known then what I do now...I'm thinking of bringing the mohawk back. And I mean a tight, slightly spiked mohawk, not the liberty spikes aka the punk rock look.

ANYWAY, my question is.... do you think this is too extreme to go with the hair? It seems to me that when I had the hawk, it was *VERY POLARIZING* and I'm just a little unsure if this will maximize the quality of sets. If I do the hawk, understanding that at least a quarter to a half of the girls I meet will automatically think my value is lowered, would it be worth it? I'm thinking that even if that is the case, the sets that do go for it would seem to go for it harder than some other haircut.

Thoughts?

You are going to DLV with certain girls

And DHV with other girls

Some girls you may do both.

DLV would be: I'm young, I don't have a job where my hair matters (this may just come off as; I don't have a good job, which certainly isn't true, but it'll get read that way).

DHV would be: I'm playful, I don't give a damn.

Depends on the girls you are looking for. The 18-22 crowd isn't necessarily looking for a stable guy with a nice job, they are looking for someone that is fun and doesn't give a damn. If you're hitting college areas, bars and parties then do it.

If you are rocking the club scene with the mid 20s to late 20s, then I wouldn't.

I use to do the faux hawk until I noticed I was pulling in two types:

1. slacker chicks that aren't going anywhere or don't lead a "clean lifestyle."
2. upper middle class girls that want to piss off daddy (s/w ohio is like north carolina, very clean cut)

So yeah now I'm trying to re-vamp to take on more of a Matador/Style personal, it's fun to experiment with your Avatar.

If you're questioning whether it's extreme or not, it means its too extreme for you.

Have a solid frame, and nothing is too extreme.

Read my mind.

There is no such thing as "too extreme." There is only "incongruent."

Do whatever is congruent to your style, and what you think personally looks good on you.

Why should a woman's opinion matter that much? will you ever have a stable identity or will it always be changing with a woman's opinion or type of woman's opinion?

Relinquish a woman's power over you by not giving a fuck about her opinion. She likes tall guys, black guys, rocker guys, blah blah blah.. who gives a fuck.

Change and shake things up for you.

Definitely agree with Hubris here. I recently saw a guy with a pretty nice mohawk at a big event lately. His group consisted of like 7 or 8 ppl and he seemed to AMOG without trying. He had a mohawk about 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide. He wore baggy pants, a hooded sweatshirt, earrings and flip flops (pretty basic). He definitely had that 'i don't give a damn' going. But i wonder how he'd look in a room full of older, more "clean cut" guys, (seeing as he was only 21-ish). Especially if it was in a club, etc. I think that Hubris was right, and the mohawk would look immature-ish, or slacker-ish. Hmmm. I guess you'll just have to try. 28,000 days, right? Haha.
