Hi all,
I am new new to the sedction community, I started with watching Mystery's new show on VH1, and just got done reading Styles (Neil Strauss) most excellent book. I then went to you tube and watched a bunch of videos on the art as well as shows with Mystery and Styles on them. Real quick rundown of who I am. I am a 40 (yes 40!) year old that is seperating after 20 years of marriage. I knew there was no way I was going to be able to do the whole club scene and started looking for alternatives. Hence here I am. I hate to admit to it but I am the epitome of an AFC, you all should put my picture next to the word in the dictionary >.< . Anyway I have always been able to get along fine with woman but opening was always my low point. Anyway back to my point I am trying to find some ideas on what the heck to wear im too old to be putting on eyeliner or peircing my eyebrow. One thing I did do is to mimic Styles as I have always looked decent totally bald. Any other 40 year olds that are running decent game without hair that can give me some ideas on how to peacock without losing my job? What I am looking for is some specifics on what stores to look in for clothing, and maybe some descriptions on what type of items work(ed) for them. thanks all. I hope to be a helpful member of the community. O one more quick question is there still a location on the boards where "field reports" are available to peruse and maybe add to?

hey man i'm not quite 40 yet but i am like you a business professional. i tend to wear nice pleated slacks and a nice button down shirt. to distinguish me from the rest of the rubberneckers i have a hair chest so i tend to leave the top 3 buttons unbuttoned and wear a nice thick gold rope chain with a cross and a thick gold bracelet and my gold rings. nothing too bling bling but just enough to stand out.

i usually wear off colors maybe beige pants and a black or blue shirt or black pants and a blue or red shirt ect or a suit with jacket and unbuttoned with no tie on the shirt... works for me. my bro calls it my guido suit...lol very fitting since i'm italian.

here is a pic so you know what i'm talking about...

first is a pic taken last year and i cut the ex out ......lol

rouge and sinister while not the same age I gun for a more professional look...first off no matter what...stay away from pleated pants they fuck up the lines of a nice suit plus they are not necessary...all you need is a decent tailor.

I do a lot of the denim and a jacket thing just vary materials...my newest purchase is a velvet striped grey/navy sport coat I have worn it twice and been opened on it multiple times each night

I like the idea of the "Guido" suit anyone tell me where would be a good place to get something like that? I really would prefer to go somewhere that someone can reccomend rather than having to walk through all the so called trendy places where I'll end up paying 4X the price for something I can get at XYZ for a lot less. The more I look the more I think blue jeans with a nice sportcoat and a rakish / shiny shirt is probably the way to go with some decent chains / watch for "bling". I still worry that I may end up just looking like I belong in polyester if I go that route, any 30+ care to toss in their experiences with maybe going too far or going farther than they thought they should but it working out? I'll be honest im the type that id prefer to go too far than not far enough. So much to learn >.< so little space to ask

Rogue,

I tend to shop cheap. i'm not into the emblem clothing like polo ect cause to me it shouts Trendy Nerd wanna be fit in with everyone! I tend to buy my shirts at cheap places like Marshalls, Wal Mart, Target, places like that unless i'm out at the mall and happen to see something that catches my eye in the trendy stores like Macy's or Hot Topic ect. I do buy my pants at the trendy places as I like docker slacks unless i find deals on them else where less trendy.

Girls do this all the time so why can't we? Don't have to spend an arm and a leg to look good. My last 2 outfits I bought 9 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of slacks, 2 nice shirts, and a new belt at the outlet malls for less than 70 bucks! I also found my 3/4 length leather jacket I been looking for for about 5 years at Wilson's leather. Originally 350 bucks on sale for 100 bucks on the 1/2 off rack for 52 bucks and change! I got a bomber but i don't like to wear that with slacks. looks tacky IMO. I also have a trench coat but I wanted something else for when it's not that nasty out.

I buy my suits where ever i find good deals at.

I tend to go for the sophisticated business professional look. I'm not comfortable wearing the crazy outfits as some wear so this works for me. I rather scream Class and not Trash if you know what I mean.

No offense to people that like the outlandish outfits it's just not my style *yet*

i love wearing graphic t-shirts. I dont go for the name brands, cause everyone else wears them...i found my most favorite ones at target. I added an awesome corduroy blazer over the tee and jeans this past weekend and got about half a dozen HBs approach me and compliment the jacket. I knew it was perfect cause some younger dudes were snickering at me while they got drunk ALONE at the bar while I opened sets, number closed and hooked up. By the end of the night the snickering dudes were coming up to me to be MY friend...if you can believe it! I dont know if I would feel comfortable peacocking like mystery does. he;s got a style all his own.

Sometimes you can just accessorize if you have some fashion sense going. I wear pendants, and I get comments on them from women all the time. You can make your own pendants by picking up cord (I use thin leather cord) and pendants or distinctive beads at craft shops like Michael's or Hobby Lobby--even Wal-Mart has a decent selection. Just find something that doesn't look too feminine.

You can also peacock with stuff you carry with you. I carry a pocket notebook, but it has a fine-art print on the cover, and my pen is very eye catching (instead of a silver pen or bic like everyone else carries).
