This is a thread about sharing your "secret" for losing weight. So feel free in sharing what helps you lose weight so others can benefit and also lose weight.
I'll go first: I maintain my normal body weight by eating only 2 moderate meals a day(breakfast and dinner) and exercising for 15 minutes on a daily basis. This works for me.

I needed to lose about 15 pounds to get back to my ideal weight after putting on the weight while in graduate school. So I thought I'd hit the gym everyday and do cardio for 40 mins to 1 hour. I did this for two months without much effect. So I stopped obsessing about the cardio and changed my diet. Eating more vegetables and fish, no soda and less carbo. It wasn't a strict diet because I didn't want to slip up. Whenever I had a craving for food, even if it was unhealthy, I would have it. As I became used to eating healthy, it became easier. I've lost the 15 pounds and it took me about 6 months. But I'm keeping it off and kept the healthy diet.

Well, I never had the problem of losing weight. I have the metabolism of a shrew the nervous system of a chiauaua on caffeine. What I have seen work is eating healthy: meat, vegetables and cutting out the starch. As for a flat gut, I literally wrote the book: Stomach Flattening.
Crunches and calorie-counting will only get you so far. You have to work the whole body and get it aligned (eg. Pilates/Yoga/martial arts/good weight lifting technique). When you stand taller you look leaner. Seriously. Don't be on of the sorry looking guys who go on the stair climber with half an effort, while reading your Jujitsu magazine, yakking on your cell phone and drinking from your water bottle. Put your head down and work for the solid 10 minutes, then hit the weights. Over 45 minutes to an hour is just plain counter productive. I can bust my ass in about 30 minutes and I am done.

Starting Strength with a keto diet. Increase intake to bulk, decrease to cut.
edit: couch to 5K is probably better if you just want to cut + work on cardio.

I lose weight by just having a proper diet, regular exercise, drinking plenty glasses of water and enough time of sleeping. This is really effective when we just have a self-discipline and self-control.
