View Full Version : Need Some Motivation

Hey guys,

I just can't seem to stay motivated with working out. In high school up until about a year ago I have no desire to workout anymore. I was an athlete my freshman year here at college and was a amateur bodybuilder at one point so I used to love it but now I can't stand working out. Anybody ever have this happen to them before? If so, how did you get over it?

Everybody has moments of high and low motivation.

Have you checked out the BB motivation vids?

I always look at the skinny guys and that gives me a lot of motivation. You could do a deload week for more motivation and just more relaxation?

I've had low points of motivation but I just dragged my ass to the gym. It's the best thing you can do with your time and every time you take a day off means you need one more day to reach your goal.

But no matter what you do, eventually you will get over it.

discipline, that's what gets you over the bumps. keep doing it and you'll get over it.

if you were an amateur bodybuilder you must've gotten over some of those already, just keep it up. for me working out has been a serious bitch the last 6 months, my lifts haven't been going anywhere in particular and i've been forced to do lower some weights to re-learn techniques etc. just keep doing it.

The way my clothes fit very well when I'm in shape is a great motivation for me. Also seeing others in their workout clothes looking lean and full of energy makes me want to hop back on the treadmill and do little more cardio. Maybe you just had too much and taking a rest from working out will get you back at the gym quicker.

To gain motivation in school or work is really important, and to do this you have to Break down the task you dread into manageable parts, Surround yourself with motivated people, Study something that really interests you and Keep your ultimate goal in your mind.
