So I was at this party, and I saw this girl I knew (HB8). We started talking and she got both of us drinks. I had her sit on my lap. We were both smiling, talking, and laughing. I tried to "play it cool" by getting up after about 5 minutes and pretending I had something better to do (pretend is the key word). I told her I'd be back in a few.

I came back after about 20 minutes- she was dancing and so I started dancing with her. We were kind of flirting, but I could tell that the chemistry wasn't there anymore. After a few minutes of small talk, I asked her if she was interested in going back to my place. I can't remember her excuse, but after about a minute she left to "find one of her friends." I felt deflated and lost my confidence for the rest of the night.

What did I do wrong? And what can I do next time to improve/make sure this doesn't happen again?

You ever hear of the phrase, "never split a winning hand" ...?

You got greedy or tried to play it too cool. You had it with her. Girls are completely different. You can't pick up where you left off. Attraction starts over. The moment you walked away you turned it off. And after that, you'll come off as needy or even if you play it too cool, she'll feel like second choice and girls don't like that. Next time, just get up and ask her to dance. No 20 min breaks!

Agreed, smalls breaks are fine, but 20 minutes? You reset the set, bad move.

Yea man, nice work getting her into ur lap, and i agree with the guys above me.

From my past experience, when u have a girl in ur lap, that is the time to switch venues. At that point, u dont need to create any more tension, u've got her!
