Reading the 'lifestyle' post in the 30+ Forums -- it got me thinking, and re-evaluating what exactly I want out of the Venusian arts; I already see the benefits at the office and in most social situations, but I'm still stuck with this sense of feeling like I'm separated from most everyone else my age in terms of maturity and goals.

I turn 20 in October, and I find myself in a Sr. position at work -- business suits, with an overall air of someone a decade older than myself. In the meantime, I'm in transition of finishing a degree -- and since I'm already in a career position, it doesn't really feel like much. I'd rather be in a jazz lounge than a club -- in a suit, Stacy Adams, and a fedora than XXL shirts and polos. Living in Columbus, that makes me an outcast -- and finding like minded individuals is a chore, though not impossible -- especially around the two main campuses here.

The reason I started this thread is to gather ideas for not only myself, but the rest of the people in the 18-21 transition that feel 'out of place' with our shared age group, in ANY way -- we all know it's a hell of a ride -- on what we can do to improve our overall lifestyle and sense of fulfillment, not just increase our chances of pickup.

Eg:
Moving into your own place
Starting your own business
Learning [more] skills
Ideas on social interactions and venues
etc

Any and all ideas from any age group is welcome, and greatly appreciated.

Find your biggest passion in life, whatever it is, and persue it. You will find others doing the same thing.

For example, I am a huge competition/adrenaline junkie. I did gymnastics my whole childhood/early teens so the only way I feel alive is when I'm pushing myself to my absolute limit. I don't have the resources to go out and race cars, so I'll watch it on TV or play a sim. I've found plenty of other guys with similar passions by watching a race at a sports bar, or going out rollerblading and pushing myself. Just don't be shy about what you are passionate about.
To feel truely alive, truely fulfilled, you have to find what makes you feel like that. Go out and do it, and you should find others who feel the same in the process.
