Get yourself a copy of p90x, it not easy but if you follow it you will get ripped fast. i used train with thos basic principles when ever i had to get ready for a photo shoot. And with the proper diet you see results in no time.
But again it aint easy, but it works
Good luck

do you mean in a home or just not at gym, im assuming money for gym membership is the issue?
Although if there is planet fitness near you its only $10 a month that may help

Agreed, P90x is excellent to start out. I now prefer hitting the gym, but when I started I got very good gains from P90.

I'll third the P90X...it kicks my butt. Actually going to be starting that up again...ummmm...today I guess. Forgot it was Monday.
But I got into it about 2 years ago...then stopped. Only thing with working out at home is there is no one to push you but yourself. Gotta have discipline.

You can do stronglifts, it worked really well for me. Or you can try Arnel Ricafranca's 16 week program, at http://theabschallenge.ning.com/ .

A really simple way is to train like an athlete.
Strength Train 3 X's a week
Sprints
Jump
In your strength training focus on:
Squats
Deadlifts
Pull Ups (Variations)
Pushups (Variations)
Single Leg Exercises
Core
Bodyweight exercises> Weights whenever possible.
On your off days, sprint. Hill running/regular sprints + jump rope + walking will get you burning fat effectively and efficiently without loss in muscle mass.
Jumps should be done right before you are about to pick up your weights to start your strength training.
For your diet, find the macronutrient ratio that allows u to feel the best while still burning fat. Burn more than you consume.
For faster/better results. Reduce calories from carbohydrates.
Those are just some quick general recommendation. P.M if you want more help. I hoped I help.

I agree with everything in this post. Dieting and motivation are the hardest things when working out at home.
If you are trying to burn a lot of Fat or Body Fat percentage look into some interval training. The Insanity program is an example.
PS: Things that are not free can be rented from stores or even local libraries for 0 dollars sometimes. Join a workout forum make a friend and borrow their videos. There are other ways to get the resources you need without paying top dollar!

I found P90x very effective. But its hard to follow it, if you one start it then you will found its better then Gym. Gym will be extra to get gain.

Hi mate...for home workouts i've heard rave reviews about P90X...but you do
need some dumbbells and especially a wall-mounted chin-up bar.
I didn't have the chin up bar so I opted for another program called Insanity, from the
same company behind P90X. Its very intense and you will definitely shed loads of weight and end up with a very toned body, but only if you push as hard as you can
throughout the 2 month program and follow the nutrition plan strictly.
I'm 2 weeks from completing Insanity and its the most mindblowing workout program
I have ever attempted...

All these home workout costs more than a yearly membership at my local gym. I too would like to do a home workout plan, But not paying £150 to £200 pounds for some dvd routines. Is there any free home routines websites?
