Hi everyone. Im new to the game and had a few questions on peacocking.Im 6"5 175lbs i have a very skinny build and would like to know if there are any types of clothes that i can wear to make me look a little thicker and still stand out in a crowd. If anyone has any tips i would be very grateful
it all depends on your style, what are you into? what do you want to convey to the girl?

I have a question... I know Matador talks about bodybuilding as a POSITIVE, Soooo do you guys consider showing off your muscles (Im not a total meathed) as a form of PEACOCKING ( wearing tight shirts, opened shirts, clothes to show off your body) I always felt that doing that is Overcompensating and will cause hating from AFC's, what do u guys think?

im not a body builder, but am into competitive weightlifting and other similar athletics 185lbs so im no giant, but ive found that showing off with tight shirts has never hurt me, got to love it when the girl spontaneously squeezes your arm ect. if you go with something tight around the chest and shoulders but looser down around the abs i think gives the best impression, also if its brightly colored youre getting pretty close to peacocking with just that combo. when i dhv though its usually best stay away from meathead stereotypes, otherwise it can seem try hard
the point of peacocking is to standout and to give the girl a reason to approach you. i suppose showing off your body could work but its not realie much of peacocking
and im guessing your fairly young (20's or younger) if your wearing stull like hollister so possibly wear a playful shirt along with a nice jacket or something along those lines, and ya also if your skinney baggy clothes are a no no, they make it look like you took a dump in your pants

Of course, if your well built, dress to show it off. I'd advise against having your shirt open, you'd look quite the twat. I work in a club and speaking with a bouncer he told me when guys do that he'll usually throw them out as it's a sign of a troublemaker.

A while back, I went to H&M and bought a $5 dollar ring. It had three spikes on the top it and I wore it on my pointing finger. I literally had more than 50 people approach me or ask about that ring. Some weirdo even kissed my ring in the club one time. Anyway, the point is that Peacocking isn't about just being flashy... something small and simple can also be peacocking. I wear bright colors, but it looks good on me. I have a baby-blue suit. Women come up to me all the time in when I wear it. I feel comfortable in it because I know it looks good on me. Can I wear what Mystery wears? Probably not.
The point is that is should be something that stands out, yet you feel comfortable in. A cool hat might help. Also if you want to look a bit heavier.. wear a suit jacket. Make sure it fits well. I dislike seeing guys wearing suits with the sleeves too long or short. It should stop at the wrist with your hands by your side. A suit jacket might be the best way to go first. You can wear a colorful shirt underneath a dark jacket and it completely stands out. Go to a store and try some things on. Ask a woman's opinion on it... who knows, you just might meet a girl that way.

The style all depends on what you look like. You have a skinny build, that's okay, start working out (duh). As for clothes, Mystery has always said to bring out your features, one good thing i like to do is go to savers or some other used clothes store, you find some outlandish stuff there! Because you are tall, try on some TRENCHCOATS, you may get some that look really stylish on you!
But as everyone else is saying, one or two little things that are noticeable work like a charm! I have the pick of destiny around my neck, sucker lights up and gets all kinds of attention, granted it looks like something you get from a cereal box, but hey, if a chick ever told me that what do we say? "i'm glad you like it!"

i dont really pay much attention on peacocking. i dont know if its just me.. but, spiked hair, black fold up button long sleeve, weird necklace like you get from hot topic:D , two hoop earings on each ear, dark tint pants, & black casual shoes gets me enough attention wit the ladies, even gets approach by it. im a dark/gothic type of guy.. i pretty much concetrate on opening a set, conversation & what not.

Being 6ft 5 is ultimate peacocking itself! My best wing man is 6ft 7 and its always the first thing girls mention!!!
lol
I can picture it.
(High pitch voice)
"Wow,you're tall!"
Edit:
And you can wear fitted shirt. I'd say,you can also get a "funny" fitted shirt. Like my friend has a brown fitted shirt, that has a picture of a pig and says "Pig Benis".

Well, I have yet to master TMM, but I think it's reasonable to assume that you're going to get some hate from AFCs just for dressing well and doing well with girls. I must admit I used to be a little bitter...

Simple, follow this rule.: If you think you can pull it off, you can, if you have to ask someone else, you most likely can't.
I disagree with the gentleman who posted above me.
If you never choose to branch out of your convenetional style, you will never improve.
Best tip? By an issue of GQ/Esquire/etc. and try to figure out what the common thread in the ads are and emulate what you think works.

I've found that in the beginning -- the easiest way to stand out, is to simply dress well. I'm not 6'5", but at 6'3" 170 I have relatively the same look -- just with broad shoulders. Compared to every other person wearing clothing that is too large for them, dressing in YOUR size with subtle accessories will get you looked at [for better reasons] more than a goofy hat will.
Since you're tall (this is one of my personal rules -- may not be yours) always go slimmer and smaller. Baggy clothes just DOESN'T cut it for us (whoever made "tall tees" needs to be shot). For example, my latest clothing additions consisted of two Perry Ellis sports shirts, and a pair of Mareno slacks. I literally took every size [reasonably] and tried them on beforehand. Two medium shirts, and slim waist later -- I'm getting complimented the same night.
Granted, I'm going for the business/sophisticated look (after a few thoughts and ideas from fellow board members) and am quite satisfied with the results. Again, my advice is to go as slim as you can, don't try to make up for size with MORE size. Flaunt what you have.

This style works for me. Girls even ask if they can take pictures of me with them Posted the pic on hotornot for fun, rating is very positive.
Best way for peacocking: 1. Make your own style (or copy a little bit from a good style) so you WILL stand out in the crowd.
2. Being comfortable with the style is even more important!
3. Look interesting

I usually wear a bandana around my wrist, a clock that looks like a rolex(bought it at walmart 13$), a singlet with lots of colours and a nice shirt over it....
I usually mix the colors im wearing...
Like for instance the other night i got A LOT of attention from hb8's mostly, I was wearing: yellow singlet, dark brown shirt, dark slim levis jeans, white bandana on my right wrist, a wristband made out of leather from gap on my left hand(20$), fake watch, spiked my hair and colored it black the same day....
I literally had HB8's opening me all night and girls were grabbing me ass while I was talking to other girls...
so wht ever makes u feel comf i guess, because if u dont feel comf then it will show in bodylanguage:P hehe

I think attire that you feel comfortable in is the best way to go...Don't look like a clown though...But dress nice and feel good about it...
The important thing is to wear some necklaces, wrist bands, earings... give the audience something to look and wonder about...
I usually wear this necklace and everyone asks me what it is and what it represents...I control the conversation from there...

This is fairly obvious, but the other day I had this thought that peacocking is like the angler fish. It's a fish that has this little shaft that looks like food on its forehead. When a smaller fish investigates, it gets eaten.
For a pickup artist like Mystery, his goggles are like bait. They bring girls TO him. They can't resist commenting on whatever oddity he is wearing and when they do, he is ready for them.
It's basically a hunting technique, only used for pickup.

Here's a huge tip. Develop good game. Peacocking is in no way a substitution for having good game. I peacock myself but it is an addition to my natural persona. I do without it and get great results.
The reason I say develop good game is because you don't want it to be like a crutch and without it you suck. What are you going to do on some random day when you are in the grocery store and you see some smoking hottie. If your game is based primarily on your exterior then your basically screwed.

I'm 6'1" and 140 lbs. (skinnier than you, I bet, though I've been working out lately and added some weight.) I find that wearing clothes that fit closely, then dressing in layers is the best way to appear bigger. For example, I wear American Eagle jeans/pants, which tend to be snug on the thigh and the flare out some below, A-shirt under a small or X-small t-shirt, with a corduroy jacket or flannel shirt open over top of it. The shirt fits tightly, making it clear that my clothes fit, and the jacket adds a fairly stiff outer layer that's a bit bigger than me (make sure it fits in the shoulders, important.)
I basically try to dress nicely, a little American Eagle, a little coffee shop, then target my specific personality with accessories. I wear a cross made out of nails, slap bracelets, AC/DC beanie if I'm in the mood, and am on the lookout for a cool hat with a feather in it (how did THOSE ever go out of style? So cool!) I also have an actually nice (but not Rolex) watch that was a graduation present and gets me lots of compliments. Stainless steel band with a Sapphire crystal means it's impossible to destroy, but still looks dressy, which I like. I'll also wear my hair down sometimes, which isn't exactly peacocking, but girls will approach me on it from time to time (You look like Jesus! giggle) It's about an inch or two longer than Mystery's. (Funny story, I first started watching The PUA on VH1 to see if a guy with long hair could get girls, since my guy friend was like "you're alienating your audience!")

Guys with long hair can DEFINITELY get girls.....some girls just don't care for it, but for many it's an instant attraction switch. It's a way for a guy to almost literally peacock....instead of displaying a fan of tail feathers, you display your lion's mane.

Yeah man, my hair is basically Mystery's, except a few inches longer and not quite as bushy (he probably uses nice products, I just use Pantene) but when watching movies and stuff I'll let girls play with/braid my hair as a kino escalation. Even girls who say they don't like guys with long hair LOVE doing that. More importantly: I love letting them, haha!

be aware of the mentality behind what you're wearing; and particularly why you are drawn to what you're wearing. Are you trying to 'trick' people into liking you? Almost like when you'd go up to a girl come off as try hard? Or are you picking things out from a mentality of being secure in your own value? Almost like you deserve to have the right to wear these things?
Generally, I like the way Matador dresses. He keeps it simple, but still stands out. He's got those killer snakeskin boots. But like his shirt and pants.. they don't scream out 'hey look at me', they just expect they're being looked at.
