I've been sarging just before the show came out, but only joined the forum after seeing the show. I'm still a noobie though =p

I knew the basics...I was AFC for a long time though before >.<

I joined the forum because of it.

Before hand I was actually attempting to do the stuff in the model, I just didn't know that there was in -- a model, until I came here and started reading the MM and the game. I knew I was someone who needed help long ago. Mainly to get over my introvertedness and become more open. I wasn't aware of the terminology i.e. acronyms until I came here though. I think many people who either go out and sarge or read up online at different points in their lives are trying to better themselves and get out of the AFC mode, however it wasn't till the show that we found out it had a name. Like a disease not yet discovered but curable.

I saw the show, and it captivated me like a fatkid in acandy store, then a close friend of mine had 'the game' and i read into the first 3 chaps. and jumped online since i dont really kno the M3 or anything beside semi-opening, storytelling and negs, i havent grasped qualifiers and closers all that well and needa do more research tonite while, in fielding during the day.

I started to involve myself with the community after seeing the show. I figured it's time to be at the bleeding edge of some new material, and that happens a lot in the forums.
I started learning/using Mystery's method in May.

Agreed. I found the game one day at Books-a-Million and bought it cause i thought it would be funny read. Read half of it and decided one night to see if this stuff was real. I didn't even know about the show till AFTER i got online

I had a buddy who told me to check out the show. He said I'd love "this Mystery guy". Indeed he has mad charisma and a badass hat collection. I only beg to see him wear a pair of Viking horns soon. ..WWII goggles are hard to top...

I actually have a girlfriend of 3 years. Never had any problem picking up chicks. There is absolutely ZERO reason for me to be here. My old lady is a 10. I have no desire for another... never met a hotter, more fun, down-to-earth girl in my life...

But who cares! This is compelling and fun info! I love gaming chicks just to see if it works... (Instead of what I normally did back in the day.)

I would love to see Mystery try to scoop my lady.

Who doesn't love to pull puppets strings like this?

I do not consider this community to be collecting random knowledge. What they have is at the understanding, and even wisdom level.

Yeah, by watching the way mystery and the guys performed I learned quite a bit, already i got a girl to show interest on my first day of school, I also go to college, and I am an extremely shy guy

I joined because I asked Mystery on myspace, and he told me about the forum. Which, can I say,is well put together.

Now,it was the show on vh1,that made me gain more interest in the art.

I had interest, but was kind of skeptical, because I didn't know of the community and how real it was.

But to answer your question,vh1 had SOME part in getting me here.

I got into PU back in like.. 2003 or 2004. I was mainly a keyboard jockey and did very little stuff in the field. I eventually dropped out and focused on other things. Seeing the show inspired me to get back into the community.

i would say 90% of the posters now a days joined from the show, hence why all the posts have been geared towards newbie stuff. Ive been reading this forum since day one, and the old MM for years, but i never created a username on this one for some reason

i was a member of the other site, until i found out that mystery was no longer involved. I always wondered why 'magic bullets' came out in the first place. damn, what a fucking waste of time on the other forum. Also talking to their 'instructors' on pm or aim is a fucking waste of time. I asked if <routine> was a good dhv, and he told me "1). post on the forum, 2). too many people ask me questions, 3). you know i do 1-on-1's where i cover how to write routines." Even tho this is the same guy that says "i dont rely on pick up for a income"

fucking waste of time.

I joined because of the show. My cousin told me about it and he has huge problems with approaching girls so he thought it would help him out alot. I thought I'd check it out and saw this weird guy with goggles. So atfirst I was like wtf is this bullshit? But then I still started watching it for fun and realized that weird goggle guy wasn't really as stupid as he looked. Not that I actually assumed he was stupid ofcourse. I look like a freak too and it has always worked for me. Goggles though... not my thing. I just figured it was just some hoax to make money off of poor AFC's.

I've watched all the episodes so far and studied alot of info online because I wanted to see what it was all about before I decided to spend money on the books. But I didn't get the MM and the Game in yet although I ordered them a week ago :| English bookstores here don't sell them at all it seems. And ofcourse the show isn't aired here either so basicly nobody knows who this Mystery guy is. I might be running years behind on this stuff. But I'm way ahead of most people here. The show won't ruin much for me :D And especially for my cousin it's a blessing from the sky. Although he doesn't realize it fully yet. or if he does he keeps on making excuses to himself why he's not ready yet. But I keep reminding him that this is his ticket out of seclusion and he should just go out with me and put a fake smile on his face and just have fun, no matter what happens. I know I'm having more fun than I ever had learning all this new stuff. The feeling of power gives me a natural high and it's no problem for me to hold my chin up and take up space in the world.

It really improved my game significantly already and I can't wait to actually read the book. I guess I should stop posting though until I have. Too many noobs are already flooding the forums with randomness. I'll wait until I actually have something solid to contrubite. Especially because I can relate through past experiences and I really want to help other guys out if/when I can.

Until then!

About 3 years ago, I signed up for Thundercat's email thing. In one of the emails of 2005, it mentioned that "the world's greatest pickup artist" was going to pick 5 guys to mentor and teach his secrets. About a year and a half later, I read "The Game" and was totally astounded that some guy could go from chump to champ in that time period. It gave me a boost of confidence and I started picking up girls again. I searched around on the internet for some of the things in the book and came across this web site earlier this year. I also joined a few other forums - specifically StyleLife which is a pretty active and encouraging forum. mASF is pretty freaking harsh - not for beginners like this forum.

I was reading Tucker Max's book: I hope they serve beer in hell. And i started adapting to what he does to pick up women (drink a lot and be C/F). Then i saw the pickup artist one night after flickin through channels and watching keys to the VIP. Now im here after being on the MM website. I read the MM first and then the game.

I've had a friend who I thought was a "natural PUA," so I decided to ask how he do it and was his secret.... he told me to go to a book store and buy "The Game." I've only found out about VA after I saw Mystery on Conan on Youtube. I'm now waiting for MM to come in the mail and I can't wait to read it. Yes, I also watch the show on VH1.

Read TMM a couple months back, stumbled here. I'm not sure if I'm a huge fan of VH1's new show, it's in the back of my mind that targets know I'm gaming them, but so far only one person has made a mention of the show, and it was a guy refering to a peacocking tactic I use.

I actually joined to ask if anyone had a comprehensive list of what has been showed on "The Pick-Up Artist" let me explain...

I'm in highschool, and I had the sad misfortune of moving to a new area before starting highschool, so I have none of the advantages that the other kids have (Having known one another since they were kids). For yeas since I started highschool i've been confused about what my problem was. I'm not an unnattractive guy, I play football, I hang out with all the cool guys, but I've just not been able to figure it out with the girls. Recently, I started watching the pickup artist, and while my friends thought it was cool, I thought it was inspiring. Since seeing the show, I have been scouring the net for information. From what I have seen, this could just be what will save me from missing some of the best years of my life. Now, the obvious problem with my situation is this: unlike many in this community, I don't have an infinite pool of women to pick up from, every girl I try to pick up will spread the word, and a failure with one set could lead to a failure with half of the school. It is this that has led me to try and get my hypothetical game down perfectly before I even make a move in the field. There's a dance that goes on outside of school every few months, and I think it will be a perfect environment for me to wet my toes, so I'm trying to arm myself with all the knowledge I can get before venturing into the dark world of women.

The point? Girls my age live off MTV and VH1, and most of them have seen the show at least a few times. It would be my worst nightmare for the chicks to spread rumors that I tried to pick them up with lines off a tv show, so I absolutely need to know what has been tainted by the show.

So, uhh... Anyone happen to have the kind of list I'm looking for?

your pretty much gonna have to come up with your own material cause if you have alot of girls in your school that watch the vh1 show then you dont wanna use canned material at all.

I actually didn't even know there was a show till tonight. Can you tell I don't watch tv much? Rather, I was searching for information on Mystery and Style, as I'm reading The Game, and I found this page. Some may criticize me for this, but I really don't need this to pick up ladies as much as I want to stop being socially retarded in general.

Wow Oo

Sooo many new guy who wanna be PUA's. I hope we wont be flooded by newbies ;).

Well I heard about mystery 3-4 years ago and I became interessted in this stuff 6 month ago.
I'm from germany so I can't really imagine the situation in US but I think the clubs are now more filled with wanna-be PUA's.

The community is not well known here in germany. And a lot of guys who know about it just don't care (they have to read english books, soooooooooooo hard for them). my best friend now gets to know more about the community (but he's kinda natural so he doesn't care that much). But in this area my best friend and me are the only ones who knows this stuff about the different methods and the community (another friend now wants to know more about the community too so we will be 3).

Well I got off-topic.
All in all. I did not join the communtiy because of the show
