I had a great opportunity to use the "Pradeep spell" routine if you guys have seen the show.

Two the girls actually said: "YEah, we've seen this."

The girl made sure her fingers stayed apart and I spun it by saying: "You are SO uncooperative! YOu will NEVER get married. You could never be partner up with any guy! WE are done talking."

I don't know if it worked as a DHV, but her friends and her laughed their asses off at my reaction.

We need to share some more rountines here. THe show is busting a lot of game into the open.

Do you know if the girls watched the VH1 show or did other guys who saw the show actually use that routine on them recently?

i got some good openers and stuff that are totally my material, and they work good. you guys should just come up with your own.

Common sense says dont use the material off of a show that was on air like 4 days ago and rerun every day since. Anyhow it's not really as good as mystery makes it out to be.

You just need to come up with your own stuff, or wait another year and it will all go away.

Besides, think about it for a second. You just used the "big secret trick" that was on the latest episode, which first aired like 5 days ago. Bad timing on your part, but good recover.

I did that trick all yesterday just for fun and did not get called out, if you give it time and really play up the routine like it should be done, it is impossible for them to keep the fingers apart, your muscles get too tired.

I found it worked best when they tried to resist. Cause their fingers go together no matter how much they try not too let it.

Vagabond, you joined in August and you only have 7 posts, which makes me inclined to believe that you joined after seeing the show (correct me if I'm wrong).

I would say that there are many more openers and gambits to use that are not being shown. I've mentioned before that I was big into SS back in the late 90's and early 2000's and I will guarantee I've forgotten more patterns than I ever used. If you see something on the show... don't use it in the field. Simple. Use something else. Be different without being "that guy".

You guys MUST look at Mystery's fingers when he is performing the routine. Watch exactly what he is doing. I mean EXACTLY. Then go to the bar and do it. There is a BIG difference at what he is doing and what u guys do using ur memory.

Once again. Do not pay that much attention to the words that to his fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

Again, I just feel bad for the guys who are throwing thousands upon thousands of dollars down the toilet for workshops and dvd's when the tv show is blowing their cover to anyone with access to cable tv or internet.

It's a thousand dollars a day. Two thousand if it's with Erik. You can get the same info from the VA book and some demos on youtube. The thing is, guys will always think with their little heads and take a workshop anyway.

who cares, if you are using material from the show just make sure you know how to recover, he did good by turning it into something funney and just making them laugh and being fun is a DHV in itself, and personally i think we are all lucky that the show hasent given away even more material which it could easily have done, at this point the show hasent given away anymore info then "The Game" did (just the info they give away is more current)

Okay, here's the deal: openers are like training wheels.. first you can't ride a bike on your own, but the training wheels aid you. After a while you learn to ride on your own.
As Mystery points out even in the show that all this stuff helps to make you a more interesting person. When you understand the basics of an opener, you can try to come up with your own and personalize it.
You can open with asking for a female's opinion. You could need a female's opinion for a lot of different things, not just if kissing is cheating. The ESP thing is kinda getting a little played and I think beginners use that because it's kinda easy to remember and gets you to test compliance, etc. I used it often before, but barely use it now.
I don't think the show will hurt the community.

The PUA community is about evoloution, if you cannot evolve past someone elses canned material you have not taken the next step yet internalize and focus on the concept of being a PUA, if you feel you need canned material write down what you are using then reword it...make it personal to you...it will give you motivation to evolve and internalize your abilities...it will give your conversations fluididty and valididty.

I have issues with the show, but it's kind of to be expected copying a line from the show (on that note though it makes me wonder how the guys on the show can pu/ use what they've learnt- when everyones seen them and what they've learnt).

Not necessarily, sure on the TV show they blow a couple of good tricks, and they reveal (surprise!) that guys would like to pick up on girls. I think that even if you follow the method to the "T" no one can be sure that you've practcing the method or perhaps you really ARE just an interesting guy that's approaching them in a non-sexual way. Just don't use the openers and gambits that are being blown on the show, the game will work regardless, it's human nature, if you do it right, it just puts you in a position to show them that you are THE MAN and that's what they want.

Let's keep sharing new openers that work so we don't have to resort to tired one's and we'll all be in good shape.

"Show?" "there's a show on TV about picking up on Girls? Wow! if I were straight, I'd definatly Tevo it. I think you have something in your teeth"

The show may affecting the game now, but just remember, most girls have the attention span of a gerbel. They will forget about this stuff after the next reality show airs. the girls I know did'nt even know what this show was about until I told them. They still don't watch it, they can't sit still for an hour. I know that sounds mean. This show is reality, "The Hills" is not.

The show isnt going to blow anyones cover. If youve read the Books you know that erik "systematically changes his method every 6 months". Are some of you guys just looking through the posts and taking them out to the field and have been doing this for over 6 months.
Girls want guys that are interesting, spontaneous, and creative to say/open with. So why worry about what pradeep (who is a an absolute TOOL and sux at life) is using. Why dont you go and spontaneously create something interesting. I even asked a 9.5 stripper what she wanted to be when she grew up last sat. And we talked about that for 15 mins. Good luck all.
Originality Please!

There are some people who actually benefit immensely from workshops. Sure you can get the same material from books, videos, or learn it from some lesser known PUA. However, some guys have severe social problems. They need someone to push them and they need "the best" to guide them before they have the courage to try. Think about jumping out of an airplane. I know how to pull the parachute, but I'm not going to jump out. If you throw me out, I will probably manage to pull it and land safely, but I still won't jump out. However, if I have an instructor with me, I will be a lot more comfortable.

Yeah, it sucks that some people have big problems. But if paying $2k will help fix it, it is worth it.

As for VH1 blowing the cover, it is not really changing anything. Mystery's Method is more like Mystery's Observations. It is basically a summary of what he has observed about social dynamics. Social dynamics are not going to change overnight cause VH1 has a show about it, it has been the same for thousands of years. Just don't use the material covered in the show and you will be fine. It's very easy to invent new material (it's actually better because it will be more congruent with your personality) once you get the concepts. For example, the dental floss opener which has been used several times on the show was created by a PUA (I think it was Style) to demonstrate that any random topic can turn into an opener (I believe that a student at a workshop was asked to randomly select a topic and he choose flossing).

I use to be really into the mystery method after reading the game. I was using canned openers and girls would stop me and say "pfft nice line but someone else used that one on me last week" and this was before VH1! That is when I evolved my own system after going out and practicing what worked for me. I think any opener as long as it is interesting will break the ice. I went up to a group of girls with my body facing away from them so it wouldn't look like I was trying to build rapport and said "I can't pay my child support" They all started laughing and I had there full attention from there.

So I'm sitting with my friends at a bar on Thursday and I ask them "Do you watch 'The Pick-up Artist?' and we fire into a lengthy discussion about it. These beautiful 21 year old women said:
- I wish the guys in here had skills like that.
- I wonder if I've ever been picked up by an artist. *beat* Nope. Definitely not.
- J-dog is hot shit.
- Where are the PUAs anyhow? They're probably not even real. (!)
----------------------
You boys can sit here and fret all you want but it doesn't make you any less in demand by young, beautiful women who are yearning to be seduced. In fact, pickings are so slim that there is actually a role reversal occurring in our society where the women want to become the pick-up artists, peacocking and opening sets, trying to gain the approval of men because the boys are just too scared to try.

The solution to this problem is actually in your hands if you'll just go out, sarge, and learn. We're waiting for you.

I am new and green to the community and only got into it because of the show. There is no doubt that the show is ruining a few openers and routines, in fact my buddy got called out twice last week on the same night and I got the feeling i was getting called out once, myself ( she just kept repeating what i said "A fight outside, huh?" "Boobs pooped out, huh?" all with a smirk on her face). Anyways, fact is you prob can get away with using the show material but its much better using your own material or material that other have successfully used modeled after the old material. I, personally, will not use the show material anymore, for fear of getting called out. In my short time using the method, though, I will say that it works no matter what you say if it is presented correctly.

I couldn't agree with you more Avis. My sister lives with me and she has watched the show several times. She knows those openers and yet when she goes out she wishes she was picked up by a PUA. If your frame is good enough it doesn't matter if they have heard that opener before or not.

You are so right on with this. Women want a MAN, not a nice guy. Here is another quote I heard that fits right in.

"Who you are speaks so loudly that I can't hear a word of what you say"

Think about that one boys and get back to me

VH1 show actually helps the game if you frame it right. However, if you are new to the game and has no INNER GAME, you will appear as some weird dude and will get massive crash and burn. I have seen a lot of dudes running around the bars and clubs using canned lines and looking like some creepy peacocked dudes looking very strange. Funny thing is everyone uses same old fucking canned routines and chicks look at you as if you are some strange pathetic dudes. In a way, it will weed out some losers who has no idea how the real game is played and actually you have better chance if you know how to play this right. Two words, INNER GAME! Mystery Method is basically canned routines that will allow you to fake it until you make it using psychology as a tool to get you hooked in. If you don't have any INNER GAME, you will look very strange using Mystery's Methods. The show made me basically drop most of the canned routines and start developing my own materials. It also helped me realized I had to work on the INNER GAME first so that whatever you open with, you are congruent with what you are saying instead of the canned materials.
