This book is a must-read for any aspiring PUA. When it comes down to it, what is the art of pick-up inspired by? Socializing with other human beings. This book teaches you how to become likable by anyone almost instantly.. and it works. :)
Author Nicholas Boothman is a trained practitioner and teacher in NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming). He trained for many years with Richard Bandler and John Grinder. For those of you familiar with the names, yes, they co-wrote the highly recommended must-read "Frogs Into Princes." Suffice to say, the author of "How To Make People Like You" knows his stuff.
What I've never liked about most pick-up and seduction techniques is that they focus more on knowing what to say and when to say rather than the actual principle of what you're saying. However, this book teaches you how to mirror body language, why people develop rapport with some people and not others.
If you're like me, you can open, you can build in-the-moment attraction, and you can close consistently. But sometimes it's difficult to build that instant connection that sets you apart from every other guy. This book has taught me how make that connection. I always thought I was a good "listener," but in fact I was making a huge mistake. I wasn't always an active listener. The book easily expains how to recognize "free information" that people give out and how to transition from conversation to conversation with that.
Several other covered topics are everyday icebreakers, mirroring body language, and more importantly dividing people into 3 specific categories: Visuals, Auditories and Kinesthetics. When you can learn to recognize which category someone falls into, it's much easier to speak on their level. You no longer have to remember specific lines or scripts or routines. It's simply about identifying with a person and then adapting to their nature. It's natural game.
All the time I've been told I'm a "people person." I'm a successful salesman, a social guy, and altogether very likable by nature. I've tried out the methods in this book now for about a week, and already I'm noticing a difference in my social skills. It's so much easier to create casual conversation while simultaneously building that feeling in the person of, "Wow.. he really gets me!"
This is not a book on pick-up. It's a book on improving your social skills and developing instant deep rapport. Whether for day-to-day life, sales, dealing with your boss at work, meeting new friends or dating life, or even trying to convince a cop to tear up that parking ticket!
I'll guarantee you this though: It will improve your seduction skills.
So whether you find it online, at the library or at your local bookstore, "How To Make People Like You In 90 Seconds Or Less" is a must read for every man and woman out there.
