View Full Version : How much commitment is enough?

I dated this girl for six months. She fell in love with me within weeks of knowing her. She frequently talked about marriage and even wrote her first name with my last name on a piece of paper to try that on for size. This girl was obviously a "program girl". But, even though she was a girl I considered a longtime partner, I wasn't ready to commit in any way. This upset her frequently and she pleaded with me to just let myself fall in love with her. A few months later, I decided to commit, but she turned the tables on me(saying she wasn't sure if she wanted that now).During this time, she was in the process of graduating from law school and taking the BAR exam and was almost impossible to be around. Since she turned the tables on me, I started hanging w/ the fellas more. Now this pissed her off and from that point on she started to become a real pain. Later, after a fight, she hinted at us breaking up and I agreed at the time but now regret it. We're now in friend stage, however she says she's comfortable/likes being around me but doesn't want any more right now. Is there any chance she may eventually want more again?

Doubtful, once their intrest level drops below 50% they no longer see you as a lover or sexual object and begin to see you as a friend/aquantice (sp?). I ran into this same problem. Best thing to do is to move on and get out of the rut as quick as possible.

Mavrick speaks the truth pull the rip cord and GTFO...if she changes her mind she knows how to get a hold of you...if not you are both better off for moving on.

Thanks for reinforcing what I know I should be doing. We all know it's hard to brush yourself off and get back on your feet. I've been hitting up the gym harder than ever and doing some chakra meditation(by the way if you guys don't know about that, you should definitely try it!) It's great for all aspects of your life, game included. If you really want to get out of your head, this is the way! By the way, my ex recently called to tell me that one of my favorite comics is coming to town. So I'm wondering if she is looking for reasons to call me. What do you think?

I understand the need for reinforcement on things like this I just rolled out of a 1.5yr with a blonde 7 we had a good thing but we both needed to move on...I had been stringing her along for the past three months under the guise of working on "us" so I didn't have to start sarging because I did not feel up to it. Your post made me finally cut the cord on the deal I guess when you give someone else advise you need to follow it yourself as well.
As for the ex she is most definately hunting for reasons to strike up a relationship again...just remember an ex is an ex for a reason...DO NOT use them for anything but intrim sex or late night hookups getting back into a relationship does nothing but mind fuck you and it will most likely end the same way it ended before.
any links or info you can pass on for the chakra meditation?

higherbalance.com is where I first got started and my buddy turned me on to some cds he has from same site. I started doing it cause I had anxiety and anti-depressants didn't work for me. The cd is a guided meditation in addition to music and binaural sounds(vibrations). I found it to be a little cheesy at first, but this was my last resort so I stuck with it. Within the first week practicing, I had a profound experience(no kidding!) and a few months later the anxiety pretty much completely dissolved. There are way to many benefits I have experienced to list and may be too complicated to explain, but like exercise, you get tons of gains! I was skeptical at first, but I can attest that this shit works! By the way, I found that any mellow music you like works just as well just as long as you follow the basic meditation technique. It will work for you as long as you're willing to train a bit(20 min.) per day/3-4 times per wk. is all that's required unless you want to do more. If you're not willing to invest any money, hit me up and I will tell you how you can get started or perhaps you can download some shit.
