View Full Version : Items You Wear That You Get Opened On

Flair

I read in a peacocking post about using glow in the dark sunglasses as an item that you will be opened on. I have yet to try them, but I'm sure they will be a hit. I'm just not sure if going into a venue with them would be appropriate. I would think the only place they would be appropriate would be walking on the beach / boardwalk at night, but correct me if I'm wrong.

What other items have you worn and had a high number of HBs open you because you were wearing it? Do you care about where you are when you wear such items? Should I even worry about these restrictions?

Be original, will you?

I'd go for ancient looking artifacts or religious pendants. Go to a flea markets and find exotic jewelry. Even wear a GIRL piece or get something that your sister wears. But it should be congruent with the rest of your clothing.

I have a huge cat in the hat style hat that is simply awesome for attention, so long as I'm loud, the center of attention, fun and slightly dominant I do phenomenally with it, I get all kinds of people wanting pictures with me, wanting to try the hat on, etc.

They ask, "Can I wear it?" I say, "What's in it for me!?"

cowboy hat
keys on string round my neck
a pencil which is a slingshot in my top pocket
reflective tape on my fingernails (it shines up in camera flashes)
occasionally an LED display with blue LED's (still not thought of anything cool to put on it yet) - I know it's a mystery rip off, but lets be honest, almost everything is.

The nails always get comments as do the lights, cowboy hat always does well, the rest is just a subtle difference.

A Blue Ribbon that says First Place: When asked what I won I say:

1. Nicest Ass in a Bikini on Beale Street
2. Sexiest Big Toe
3. Hottest Nipples In Town

Just come up with original stuff. I use this all the time and I always get opened even more so than my wings who wear Top hats, cowboy hats, goggles, leather bracelets and the like.

Im pissed because I have been commented on my style and accessories AFTER Ive talked to the girls or have been talking to them. I never usually get opened. My friend has a black and pink shirt regarding myspace, google it. It simply just gets him lots of attention even if he doesnt have great game.

Crazy hair and eye contacts can count as peacocking too

Mystery's best and possibly his easiest piece of advice to implement is: to wear just one interesting item. Reason: if a girl is attracted to you, and you haven't yet seen her, essentially it will give her the excuse to open you first. And from there, you will just run routine. That's half the battle done!

Anyway, I wore a pair of handcuffs on my side belt loop last night, and needless to say Mystery's advice reigned true. I hadn't been at the bar for but a few minutes and as soon as I turned around a girl was approaching me, and immediately asked about the handcuffs. Well, naturally I ran rountine and the rest was.....well have a guess? I want to mention I have my brother to thank for these because he's a police officer, and was my inspiration for choosing to wear this item of peacocking. And I should note these cuffs were the real thing: S&W Model 100 Blue Carbon Steel; no cheesy, shiny plastic shit. Thanks bro! Thanks Mystery!

Well my friend and I were at the mall one day, and we saw these belt buckles that had scrolling LCD messages on it. You can program anything you want into them. I originally thought they were stupid, but a few months later I decided to get one.

I don't where it out to often. When I do it usually says something stupid like "blow me". It get's me opened.

I wear a lot of pendants--I know it sounds very 70s, but women often touch the pendant and ask me about it.

By far the best one is a single metal bird's wing I got from a shop in Chinatown. I get asked about it so much that I made up a DHV story about it.

I make most of my pendants. One used to be an unusual earring made of mother-of-pearl but I took the earring fitting off and strung it on a piece of leather cord.

I try to peacock with ordinary items, too. I always carry a pen and pocket-sized notebook into the field, and both are unusual/interesting.

Building on Solus, you can try FUZZY handcuffs on your belt loop if you are more aggressive or are doing a lot C&F.

This may be the ultimate in peacocking; I have a full Tigger costume, with the mitts and the hood w/ ears. I wear it out maybe 3 or 4 nights a year, and every time I get the same response. At least 1 of every 3 girls will grab me and many will ask me out right there/ask me to go out with her and her friends. Last time I wore it I had a car with 3 girls stop in the middle of the road, talk to me for 30 seconds, and fight over who gave me their number first.
Every guy got really pissed, and every girl got REALLY horny. Especially when I do a back flip in the thing.

Who gives a shit, you're just being incongruent, obviously the shirt (LED) won't pull itself off if you're uncomfortable in it. You need to internally, truelly enjoy and like that shirt. Not just wear it cause "a bunch of guys on some pickup forum told me too".

That's just chumpmanship there.

I only ever wear it out when I am at school. My city is at a huge party school, so on a Friday or Saturday night it works quite well. I would NEVER consider wearing it anywhere else in the world!

If I dress like this in a normal, non-college, atmosphere you can ban me and deny ever talking to me.

Park bench you say?! Hmmmmm.... lol.

I do realize how ridiculous it is, but being that I live in a huge drunken party city you can get away with a lot more. Again, I would never do this anywhere else, and I rarely do it. It works like f'n magic here though.

Ok here's my list of peacocking things I have tried...

Lip tattoo on neck- one of the best and always gets you opened...get her to even it out on other side (if anyone knows where to find the lip tattoo anymore PLEASE let me know I ran out and cant find it ANYWHERE)

LSD beltbuckle- wore it out twice and am not sure on it. I tried it with "blow me" and got some negative reactions. Girls staring and shaking their heads. One girl was into me UNTIL she read what the belt said then walked off. Second night I wore it it said "Stop staring" which got some better results. Didn't get opened for it but all eyes were on me. Might try this again since my game is better now.

Hawaiin lay- very good but incongruent and can be seen as try hard, good for bars and stuff not clubs

flashing necklace works VERY well- mine is to bright though and when the girl gets near me it blinds her...need to find one thats a little dimmer.

weird pendants and jewlery- always good but might not be strong enough effect just makes you look cool

candy necklace- havent tried this yet but I want to gonna use a vampire routine with it

eyeliner and black nails- honestly i've had a neutral reaction to this, not good or bad...might get brought up but not really a biggy

blue eye contacts- when girls notice they love it...they ask me if those are my real eyes? any ideas for a good response?

flashing sunglasses- my friend did this and worked VERY well

boa- friend did this and worked very unwell...please dont wear the boa

not sure of anything else but I love the costume idea for a social experiment...get 3 of my buddies and dress as ninja turtles or something idk would be fun lol

Psych_ your eyes was one of the first things I noticed when I read your field report. I'm in the opposite situation as you -- I have the natural blue eyes, but I have been contemplating dying my hair black (or a very dark brown) to bring them out more. Haven't had the balls to do it yet though. Seems like it works for you!

If a girl asks you if your eyes are real, maybe you could find something on her (eyelashes, nails, breasts) that's also fake.

Girl: I love your eyes are they real?
You: No, they're fake. I love your breasts are they real?
Girl: No, they're fake.
You: Wow, we might need an x-ray machine to figure out what's real on you -- All I got are some fake contacts!

Trouble here is when her shit turns out to be real, and it's a DHV for her. Or you could do Mystery's thing:

Girl: I love your eyes!
You: No you don't, you're attracted to me.

Another:

Girl: I love your eyes, are they real?
You: You know what? Let's play a game! .... I get to pick three things on you -- and if I find something that's fake, I win. If you're real enough, I'll tell you the secret about my eyes.

When you pick parts of her body use it for kino when you grab her nails or her boobs if the moment is right for it. After running this it might be time for a kiss close. If not, do more A2 stuff.

Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who's almost a total keyboard jockey. I'm gonna start hitting the field hard in the near future.

Nowadays, I mostly peacock w/ t-shirts that have funny sayings (ex. please tell your boobs to stop staring at me). A leather bracelet w/ a wolf on it also works for me.

But whenever possible, I don a fedora. This gets me the best results as I'll get opened by both HB's and guys.

If you try it, make sure of two things: 1) you know how to carry yourself w/ it when it's on, and 2) that the club or bar you're going to allows hats. I've been to some places where hats of any kind are not allowed.

Correct me if I'm wrong Kinder, but Mystery does it the other way around.

The example brought in the book aswell as in Conan is "I hate your goggles"
then Mystery says "No you don't, you're attracted to me".
If she says "I love your goggles" and then you say "No you don't, you're attracted to me".
Thats just kinda stupid.

How is it stupid? It is C&F and DHV in the same vein as "Buy me a drink before you hit on me like that." I think on the Mystery Method DVD he talks about using this in response to compliments.

Generally I havent been able to find something to peacock with which is really congruent to who I am. My wing wears an LED belt buckle "My face is up here" with an arrow pointing up. He uses a lot of Cocky Funny stuff and thats generally his style. I have been known to wear various superhero tshirts, spiderman, superman etc under a black collar shirt which is unbuttoned just enough to see the edge of the logo. I've been asked a couple of times if I'm secretly a superhero, which gets me into the whole "shh, don't tell anyone" thing and stories about sowing buttons back on everytime I rip the shirt open (This was better when I had a smart shirt that did up with velcro). I have a couple of hair dyeing ideas which I'm setting up to try out, just need money to get it done properly.

I peacock a lot. I have LED belt buckles, light up glasses, cowboy hats, chains, wristbands, funky clothes, etc... Basically, what I have determined is that whatever you wear is fine. As long as you are congruent.

You have to believe that the stuff you are wearing looks good and is awesome. If you do, then you will not have a problem wearing a LED shirt in a club. If you are obviously doing it to get attention and the only reason you have it on is because you want girls to open you, then you will seem try-hard and it will be transparent.

The glow sunglasses worked awesome in the club. My only problem is I got opened by so many chicks that I got too distracted by the people-overload and had difficulty maintaining conversation before being interrupted by more people.

Islander gismos that makes chime like noise that i got from hawaii and the philippine islands with a really interesting story behind the shape, the patterns and symbols, and the colors,,, one of the reasons why I bought it, then I realize i could use it to peacock.

Shirts as always,,, and neck ties.. I love how they try to grab me with it, or try to fix it for me... then I could say, "whoa there, dont just touch" or "whoa, were not yet married, you were suppose to buy me a drink first before you hit on me like that."

About a year ago, a girl gave me a t-shirt that reads: GREAT KISSER. I tend to wear it under an open jacket, but I get opened on it ALL the time.

The standard line that I hear is: “Is it true?”
My reply (with a big smile): “It is ABSOLUTELY...not true.” It’s not an answer that they are expecting. In fact, it almost acts as a False Disqualifier. From there, I’m already in A3 (since they opened me) and I begin to Qualify her...

Until it wore out, I got opened a lot when I wore a tshirt that had the main game screen of the original Donkey Kong on it (Mario at the bottom, walking on girders, climbing ladders, some broken, and Donkey Kong on top throwing barrels while Princess Peach stood by helpless and fireballs danced around).

My Cav hat gets me opened.

My shirt from Slade Ham, http://www.sladeham.com , that looks like it is written in Russian, but when folded like the last page of Mad Magazine only horizontal says, "FUCK YOU". That gets me opened with, "What does your shirt say?"

about the Red Jeans.

1.Red in nature usually means danger of some kind. (if you are on the right side of danger, you are the one being protected)

2. Some colors trigger a mechanism in our bodies, Red for instance raises the pulse.

I've been using a black and white scarf with fringe that some girl left at my house a couple weeks ago actually.

It's one of those things where it makes you wonder: "Is that a woman's scarf?" Instead of thinking: "OMG that's a woman's scarf!"

It works pretty well. I stand out with it a lot, mainly because I'm in FL and no one wears scarves (especially men.) It also works great as a lock in prop, and on the dance floor.

Also, a trilby/fedora works really good for me. "Can I try it on?"

A nice tie, tied really loose works good. Girls sometimes just grab it and pull me in when I walk by. "No touching young lady!"

The obviously fake thick rimmed glasses. "Are those even real?" (No wrong answer here, just wrong deliveries.)

Or really any large necklace. Like someone said in an earlier post, go to the flea market, find something big flashy, but congruent to your style. Girls will often just touch it randomly in set, or hold on to it to compliment it. "Hands off the merchandise!"

Necklace...... WITH KEYS ON IT

BOOOOOM, Opened!

"Omg, keys?" "Ooo shiny!"
*jingling sounds*

Think about it, they are so stimulating. Its like dangling your car keys in front of a cat.

"What are those keys for?"
"This key here... is the key to her heart *points across room*... This key here, is hers.... and this little one here... is yours ;)"

I want some feedback on some cool t shirts I can wear out to bars that will get girls to laugh/ comment on. I own a t shirt biz so I can make them myself, I just want some ideas for what to put on them. I wore a KRAMER one the other day to a baseball game and some random hot girl commented on it as we were passing... so, any good ideas fellas??
