I have been doing a lot of running in the gym that's my main work out for now...I have an old pair of shoes that fit great, plus I wear gel insteps to protect my feet do I need to get actual running shoes? or can I just run in regular shoes that i feel comfortable in? I'm not experencing that much pain in my joints or whatever.

Well, I have ran 5 marathons and I am a running maniac. I personally love nike shoes. I'd recommend subscribing to runners world, tons of great info in there.

Regular shoes are not your best bet bro... look in your local area for a specialty running store and the people in there will be able to fit your foot, arch, and give you AWESOME tips.

If your serious about this... 80$ AT LEAST is how much you should be spending on a pair of shoes every 6 months or ever 600 miles put on the shoes.

Last point... get the shoes .5 bigger than you normally would... feet swell up substantially when running. Theres nothing worse than your toes cramping up in your shoes.
