View Full Version : Mystery Spam

Is anyone else getting completely barraged by bullshit spam from "suposedly" Mystery and LoveDrop and folks about this playboy thing and Rich Jerk?

It's drving me up a tree and I think it's soooo unclassy, Mystery Method has a sweet classy looking email system and even though they are trying to sell products every other sentance it is at least bearable and professional.

Seriously, I expect more from this comany.
What's happening?

I was going to say the same thing man. Its almost insulting that they are trying to game the very people they trained to know how to game and not get gamed.

But what kills me is that my email is shooting the mailing lists like wildfire now, there's thirteen different wordings about this playboy mansion bullshit in my inbox all as equally lame and "ONE TIME OFFER TO WIN 100,000,000$$$"-esque as the last.

It's lame to say the least.

Welcome to internet marketing I guess.

I think they´re thinking on the thousands of people who will get in the mailing list because they watched the VH1 show, and since most don´t know shit (yet) they´re most likely to fall for it.

It's all done by recipe, straight out of Cialdini's book, Influence:

Scarcity: "Only a few seats left!" "Mystery's Last Bootcamp!"

Social Proof: "Me and my friends Style, Lovedrop, David D'Angelo" "Millions are storming the gates"

Liking: "be cool to Jim-he's my friend and it's NOT HIS FAULT"

Reciprocation: "watch this free video"

Authority: "Heck I've even got my own VH1 show".

If it weren't pathetic it would be hilarious.

If any knowledgeable person from the community was asked "is this how the community should look like?" in terms of their newsletters, they'd most likely say "no."

Please, if anyone who has the power to influence is here, make a change. The emails may not be aimed at people who see through the shit, but make them more professional.

If you had "just a minute" or if this was "urgent" you wouldn't be sitting and writing out an email that incorporates 40 different psychological sales principles in its writing, now would you? That's a conundrum, but these emails don't sound professional either way.

If they are solely at half-retarded-socially-unaware-AFCs, then... hell, we had more of those than I realized.

Well it looks like all the hype was right! It's game over...at least on this forum. This marketing shit it completely lame. I'm really dissapointed. We'll be lucky to have a normal convo on this board. Forget talking about sarging or pick-up or self-improvement.

Basically what is happening here is they're trying to get to rapport building without having created enough attraction. A common sequencing mistake. ;)

They know that the MM method is fucked up cuz everyone is going to know this shit.. to mystery it won´t affect since he has the social proff of the show and spotligth.. but the rest of us.. we should abandond this sinking ship of indirect game .. and go try something else. the point I was trying to make.. is .. they know its over .. so they are trying to GET AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE IN THE NEXT MONTHS .. UNTIL THE "OIL RESERVES ARE EMPTY".(the MM started to lose value since "the game" but man.. now with the vh1 show... this will devaluate much faster till its totally death).

This method started some months ago, with the GREAT surprise (the reality show) and all the other bullshit (transparency video and new model ebook FREE for everybody :D ). Yeah, dream on!!!
And what about the last seminar of Mystery this summer? Yeah, dream on (in future there will be a lot of seminar at astronomic costs)
And what about the TRANSPLANT!!!!!! With wich you are transformed from AFC to a MPUA in only two days!! :D
For me it's a delusion. Mystery have done lot for the game, but now i think he's out of control. He's losting lot of points in my eyes :(

The sad thing about all this is that they just don't need to do it.

Juggler gets by perfectly well, and never stoops to this marketing bullshit, and he makes a point to bring it up from time to time. And, that didn't stop him from getting a TV show either, and a lot of business.

I think the VA guys are making a huge mistake with this. It'll help business in the short term, but they're going to create disgust amongst the guys who are smart enough to know that this is Cialdini style marketing, and buyers remorse amongst new guys when they realise they've been played.

It'll hurt their long term reputation, in the same way Style permanently burried his "regular guy turned PUA" image when he marketed Annihilation Method and Stylelife.

The true is that: Venusian arts and their bootcamps weren't going well (lots of space lefts). I think in the future only "natural game" survive, for some reason:
1) AFC who became a PUA discover that routines, tricks, rigid rules are only bullshit. It's all about inner game, and i think is best to learn INNER GAME (see BadBoy, Zan, Juggler, DavidX) than ROUTINES/TRICKS/BULLSHITS
2) Do you think all the playboys in the history do "methods"? Come on...
Hey, i have an incredible esteem of Mystery. But i have realized that IN THE FIELD, natural game is better and most guys i know who "plays" use natural (even if they started with Mystery method).
It's a question of time. Sooner or later the "premanifactured methods" will die.

I saw a natural guy blew HB8.5 with only 5 words. Ones you jump though a hoop you're loosing the chick. Naturals make mistakes like AFCs. This guy laid many 8s and blew 6s and 7s.

Playboys in history had looks and social proof it's totally different thing. You can be Woody Allen and lay ten times a day, but thats because the social proof, AFCs and PUAs don't have social proof.

The method is not a spell to lay chicks, it's a way of developing yourself, it's the way you learn to fake natural game 'till it became natural.

"This whole place is fucked" Thats funny dude, LOL

Yeah, it's not all that cool, but the only thing to do is watch the show on youtube not on TV so the ratings suck and it gets dropped.

Short of that, there's nothing anyone can do to be fair... Enjoy it, it's all still fairly low key, you and I know about it, but you'd be surprised at how many people still don't know about it.

I wouldn't worry - All you have to do is turn around the 'pickup artist objection' the same way you do a 'boyfriend objection'.

Thats all there is too it. Attraction is still the same, irrespective of how it's built, Attraction is STILL not a choice.

Remember that, it's all good, don't worry.

Keep all your heads up.

I'm off out tonight, what are you guys doing?

i hope you guys who are writing that shit read this because its pissing me off.

"this email is for you only, its exclusive, dont spread it!", how funny, a business that doesn't want more customers. how stupid do these guys think we are?

and all this dumb shit like "OMG, we were just picking up 100 chicks at this club but we HAD to RUSH back to our hotel room to send this email"

and my favourite, some video of mystery gets posted on youtube, and he's going on about how to many ppl have seen it and its spreading like the flu, when i checked it out, about 4000 people had seen it. well done.

its pissing me off, cut that shit out.

You can try and change this, but I honestly don't see it happening. I replied to one of the emails that was sent to us, that had started with the words: Hey -
>
> Mystery asked me to write a letter to you and a select few
> other fans...
>
> He didn't tell me what to write... just to extend a special
> invitation to you... I'll keep this brief because I've had
> a long day and the phone's been ringing off the hook...
>
> In short...

Here followed a rather lengthy email (as usual) which finally pushed me over the edge. Here's the reply I sent:

Buddy, whoever you are that writes these ridiculous emails... it's insulting! I signed up to the venusian arts forum to help other guys who needed it. To further instruct them in the art of pick-up that Mystery has done so well in developing. But seriously man, you want to send me emails and pretend that Mystery himself asked you to send them to me and a few select others?! You want to start the email with a false time constraint about your god damn phone ringing constantly, and how you have hardly any time to write it, only to find that you've spent upwards of quarter of an hour on the whole thing regardless?! You're applying the techniques you teach your students, ON your students, as a marketing scheme. I have lost so much respect for TMM over the last few months, it's unbelievable. Not only does Mystery refuse to even find 10 minutes a week to say 'hi' to the guys on his forum, that follow his methods, and in some cases even pay him thousands of dollars to learn from him. But now we get bombarded with emails like this. Trying to suck us into paying more money to go to one of his bootcamps but hyping up the main man. Get a grip buddy. The vast majority of people on this forum need replies to their threads that specifically ask for help, need advice on how to build inner game, on how to run routines congruently, on which dress styles will work for them, on how to beat AA. And the biggest input they get from the guys that 'apparently' run the show, is emails like this, which are clearly 90% crap. If you want respect from the guys on your forum that actually understand the principles you teach, then give us this info straight. No pretending that this email is sent 'just for you and a few select others!', and no hyping up Mystery and how amazing he is, when we already know he's a great guy. How the hell you don't see this is beyond me, but in your own terms - it's a massive DLV.

Honest to god, I would write more about how disappointed I am in you and Mystery's involvement in his own site, but I'm lost for words. Do yourselves a favour, and get this together. We aren't idiots, we understand social dynamics. So start treating us as equals, as venusian artists should do.

-Silver-

I was expecting some sort of intelligent reply, with a reason for why all this marketing crap was being used, but instead I got this:

Thanks for the feedback. Mystery actually welcomes it and you are freeto post it publicly on the forum at http://www.venusianarts.com/forum ~BlitzClient RelationsVenusian Arts, LLC.mailto:blitz@venusianarts.com(800) 799-1234

Now you tell me: Did he even read that email? Or is that just some sort of automated response. I wouldn't be surprised if he thought 'Ah, someone complaining, now I just have to press this button, to send this pre-written response. Lovely.' I realized that the guys that run this show clearly don't give a crap about their own customers, and the guys that make their business, so I figured what's the point in posting it. We'd end up with a thread like this one, full of everyone agreeing that Mystery is really selling himself out on this front, and in the end, nothing will be done about it.

You know who I'd like to see a response from in this thread? Prophet, Matador, or Lovedrop. I'm assuming you guys are close to the workings of your email system. So kindly tell me, what the hell gives? I would have recommended firing Blitz for letting you down, but recently Mystery and Matador have been using exactly the same bullshit styles in their emails. So I remain confused and dissapointed at the way this show is being run. Now what's the chances of actually getting a decent reply and reason for these emails...?

good idea but watching the show only on 'Tube instead of regular cable tv won't affect ratings except for homes who are being monitored by the ratings service. Unless your cable provider knows whether your tv is on while tuned to a certain channel (I don't think they are able to do that) no one would know you are or are not watching anything. Nielsen Media Research only collects data from households with Nielsen meters installed. I would personally like to see the show succeed.

But this thread is supposed to be about the spam, which I agree is among the lamest things I've seen in the community, especially coming from Mystery, not that I know what he's really like.

Everyone considers the DYD marketing method "genius" and so apparently it works and thus is copied over and over again by everyone. Similar to how the ESP and best friends tests are used over and over. Thing is, even if that is pretty unoriginal and retarded, if the shit works people are gunna use it.

What I really feel insulted by, is the insertion of my "name" inside the emails. It used to be, when that software was written for marketers, that it was only in the beginning or at least placed in such a way as it was less obvious/actually made sense in the email, not it just sounds stupid and i wish they would cut that out, because it now makes it even more impersonal to see my name in the emails....

I don't know who paid to go learn these marketing techniques but whoever made that money off of teaching this junk is the smart one who's laughing all the way to the bank... or maybe they learned it by downloading a free e-book that millions have used to make millions of dollars, while they slept.

What i really don't understand about those emails is that how can they advertise a few slots to come to the playboy mansion, yet in the same sentence they say they have thousands of people beating down the door to get in on the seminar/party? Don't they realize how ridiculous that sounds?

And the funny thing as well, is how they mention that the website got slammed and the server keeps going down, but when i check the alexa traffic results for the the site there is no spike in traffic at all.....

I reiterate my question, if there are supposedly thousands of PUAs lined up to get into this thing, how come none of them seem to even be members of the community? It just comes off as odd...

If I had the money, I'd certainly be in - Playboy bunnies, other various HBs, and personal lessons from Mystery and possibly Style and Juggler themselves? Damn skippy, where do I sign? But, seeing as though I'm a poor boy at the moment, I cannot...but where are the masses of people flooding the servers and the phonelines, anyway? They don't seem to be any in here...

Tell that to the VA marketers. They seem to forget that we, aPUAs, are smarter than the retarded chumps that frequent the world wide web.

Can you post the alexa traffic so that we can all see the true extent of the 40,000 people trying to buy into the Playboy mansion bootcamp?

With all the new companies growing, I think that the VA must lower its BC prices or introduce specialized seminars that deal with threesomes, ONS, strippers and hired guns and day game. I'd pay for those instead. I dont care if Mystery is not teaching those. I think that Mystery just repeats himself too often. The same stuff comes out of his mouth.
