It's ironic to me that a community founded on the ability to meet and have sex with a lot of women rarely mentions anything about STDs - and that they are a real danger.

Every story has two sides, and at least a sticky or two at the top with some general guidance can be helpful to some people. This shouldn't turn to a sex-ed class however. Maybe just a reference to what you should watch out for, etc etc...

Why is that?

Yeah, STDs/sex ed was pretty academic to me when I was in high school so I didn't remember much. Plus more has been learned about some of the STDs since then (this is especially true about HIV).

I agree there should be a sticky in the Sex forum, for instance.

There was a time when I wish I had done my STD research before I banged a girl. I ended up not catching anything, but the girl was so creepy I would worry every time my dick got itchy or my throat a bit sore afterward.

I volunteer to write a draft if no one else wants to.

Because everyone here is intelligent enough to use condoms. Have you downloaded the STD charts from the CDCs website? Contracting an STD is much more difficult than our conservative upbringing might let on.

I know a half dozen guys that have fucked more than one hundred women in their lives. None of them have an STD.

Wrong. And no I am not speaking only for myself here. There was a poll about condom use on www.themysterymethod.com (http://www.themysterymethod.com) which proved otherwise.

Also condoms are not highly effective against HPV, and HSV.

Yep, I caught HPV against a girl who wasn't visibily showing the warts (1 in 4 people are carriers without physically expressing it) AND used a condom. Whaddya know, 3 months later out they come.

That's pretty crazy.

Way I see it - occupational hazard.

Because everyone here is intelligent enough to use condoms.

Everyone? That's pretty tough to back up...
And even if MOST people are intelligent enough to use condoms, there are still diseases which condoms can't protect against.

A sticky on this stuff would definitely NOT be out of place in this community.

Thanks for all the links guys.
Sticky should be made.

So they say. It's not the kind of thing you really wanna discuss over an evening's cigars and brandy.

"So Neil, how's things?"

"Not brilliant, Erik. My cock's starting to look like a fucking cauliflower."

"Oh, bad show old man."

"Indeed."

"Did you happen to know which comely young wench was responsible for the debilitated condition of your unfortunate member?"

"Indubitably. It was Marie-Clare."

"Damn her eyes!"

"Indeed."

And so forth...

Just can't picture it.

there's also vaccines for preventing certain std's. like in regards to the guy talking about hpv, there's a vaccine for it and there's one for one of the hepatitise's.

I believe the HPV vaccine is for women only and those under 26. Although, my guess, is that high risk females over that age could get the vaccine too.

There is a hep B vaccine (along with hep A, no hep C vaccine). Again I think there are certain age guidelines, and if you fall outside of them you may need to work a bit to convince your doctor that you are high enough risk in order to get vaccinated. (But since you are a PUA that shouldn't be too hard, right? ;) )

Unfortunately no HSV vaccine yet. That's the disease which scares me the most: it's fairly common, there is no cure or vaccine, and condoms do not seem to be as effective against it as they are against most other STDs.

Wear a rubber if you are playing it is as simple as that. I would like to assume that the individuals who participate in this game have at least some level of basic self-preservation. Though it may be that some of the women who we meet and develop a relationship with may not hold themselves to the same standard, the PUA always does, and thust this comment means nothing.

The government should permanetly tag the people who has STDs (iono maybe a tatoo or sign in their gentials) so people will know who's infected. Now nobody knows whats what and whos who and iits a crisis now.

To tag people who have STDs would be a kind of a discrimination which is against the Human Rights.

The last time and place where something similar was done was in the nazi Germany with jews and homosexuals, and we all know how that ended.

This may seem like a stupid question.
How do you protect yourself from getting an STD when you perform oral sex?

Yeah, but I've never been much a fan of a lot of "human rights".

Silentbeat its something called a dental dam. I only found out about it when a lass wouldnt let me go down on her because of not having one so they arent exactly well talked about!
