I was in a club on Friday night. I was standing at the bar with my friend, and 7 or 8, probably in her late twenties to early thirties walks up next to me.. I angle myself away from her, chatting animatedly to my friend to get social proof and DHV. Suddenly she says to me "How old are you anyway?" I turn around smiling and say "What?" and she repeats herself "How old are you? Aren't you a little bit young to be in here?" to which I responded "How old are you?" then interupting her reply "Are you Young enough to be in here?" this totally threw her and she went on the defensive, but resulted in us having a lengthy conversation at the bar, while the chump who had just given her money to go buy drinks (and who was at least 35) stood like an idiot about 10 feet away, watching the woman he was trying to buy with drinks chat up me haha. As her drinks (shots of vodka) arrived I said "Oh for me... you shouldn't have" and feigned downing the shot. She said "As gorgeous as you are, this ones not for you" and I said "Its ok, I'm covered anyway" and picked up another drink my friend had just bought me. She went off back to the old guy, but the rest of the night watched me while I went round opening other sets with my wings, greeting the many people I knew in the club, displaying high social proof etc.
Can anyone tell me how I can improve this, it was totally spontaneous (my initial reply to her neg) although I had noticed her approaching the bar and, being that there was about 8 feet of bar space next to me, she showed a proximity IOI by standing so close to me at the bar she was touching me. I didn't pursue anything, because I'm still a relative beginner to the Game, and was simply opening sets around the club, practising hooking and had already K-closed by that point (though a bit prematurely).
