Hey, I remember there was a peacocking thread at TMM, I think we need one.

A list of stores and sites that have great clothes and accessories for peacocking and just looking damn good.

PS: I am specifically looking for some cool headgear, or at least something on my upper body, to exentuate a "Rockstar" sort of look. I have Spiked hair so no hats.

Try Just Cavalli or Roberto Cavalli

heres a tip from nyc..

seems that every guy in a bar/lounge seems to wear an untucked dress shirt
with big unbuttoned cuffs-the kind you usually see at express for men....usually in a black color and jeans, with kenneth cole shoes..

dont wear that if you want to stand out:)

(http://www.edhardyshop.com/Mens-Signature-Flocked-T-Born-Free-Beige-p/m115-m116-m117-m118-m119.htm)For those of you that don't know, Ed Hardy is a pretty popular brand at the moment. It's pricey enough that you won't see everyone wearing the same shirt, but not so pricey that it's not worth purchasing. Well dressed, smart girls know this brand.

- $495 Billionaire Boys Club T-Shirt, logo in Swarovski Crystals
- Good news if you don't feel like blowing $500 on a tshirt. Occasionally on eBay you can find a replica for cheap. I got one for $40 shipped. Prepare to be the center of attention if you wear this shirt.

Obviously these clothes (and all clothes) need to be matched properly to not only the rest of your clothing, but to the type of personality you are conveying (or trying to). I feel like that is something that is not covered enough when people explain the concept of peacocking. Me... you'd never see me in a big pink furry fuzzy hat. It's not congruent with my personality or the type of women I am attracted to. Just because it works for Mystery doesn't mean it will work for me (nor would I want it to). What I'm trying to say is: when picking clothes to stand out with, make sure you really spend time getting to know yourself inside and out THEN project who you really are or really want to be. Don't just wear something because someone else did. That's really, really lame.

I don't usually advocate dressing like the PUGs but I really want a closer look at that heart shaped necklace Mystery has on the VH1 show. I'm pretty keen on it.

NO OFFENSE. But, I'm noticing Mystery, Matador... they look like they're wearing uniforms... albeit each little different. Mystery always dressing dark, big boots, pimp coat... bling/sophisticated accessories. Notice he wears a heart or locket.. not your average joes cross. Is there an advantage to this uniform approach? Do they keep it up day to day or only on the pick up?

I've got in style ward robe ( lots different colored shirts, etc ) with edgy accessories. Shaved head, thumb rings, necklaces - cross, cuffs, big belt buckle, pimp italian shoes, ( I custom destroy denim - which I'm starting a business for) so my jeans are off the chain, and then I bounce between edgy/trendy tight t-shirts.. and then clubby button downs untucked.

So.. I look good.. but, I damn sure don't get remembered or stand out anywhere near like mystery, matador, or staff would. What's the difference in the way people interpret your image if you have this "comic book hero" look. Apologizes to Mystery and Matador if that sounds insulting. I think the average guy is saying.. OMG can I really get away with that.

Also... I noticed my edgy look.. turned away potential GFs looking for the nice professional. I'll attribute that to weak skills on my part.

No offense taken.

I guess it depends on your outlook on clothing and fashion. BBC is a clothing line started by legendary hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams who is known to be one of the best dressed men in the world. Aside from BBC, he also has his own line of Luis Vuitton products.

The shirt is special because, on top of the EXTREMELY limited production numbers and name brand recognition, there is no "graphic" print on it. The text and image on the shirt are in Swarovski Crystals. There is literally Swarovski Crystals all over the front of the shirt to form what you are seeing as the graphic. That shirt cost a pretty decent amount of money to make. $500? No way. But it's not a piece of cheap cotton with a screen print on it.

What is the difference between a Prada suit and a $150 Men's Warehouse suit? A Gucci bag or a JC Penney's bag? It all depends on what you like. I place a lot of importance in the clothing I put on my body. It honestly has a direct effect on my mood and outlook. You could be totally different though. You might be one of those guys that just needs a pair of beat up Levi's and an undershirt and you're good to go. There is no right or wrong really. It's a personal preference.

But I know that if you go out to a club or bar wearing well matched, fashionable clothing that grabs others' attention, you subcommunicate that you are savvy in ways that most men aren't. And to women that is pretty powerful shit.

As far as Dr. Seuss hats with bomber goggles wrapped around them goes... Ummmm I think I will pass :p

I don’t know. I wear a lot of fake huge gold chains that look real. Umm I have a few pairs of really short 70s crazy colored gym shorts. The shorts are great. Girls will just come up and be like nice shorts *giggle*...any hot girl that says that, I always # close them....

Go to those quirky clothes shops that sell vintage. But don’t get anything lame. Find the real cool shit. Be original...
