One Sets

Who has the skills that pay the bills for these closeguarded sets? And I mean the genuine one-sets, not the HB who gets left alone for a few mins while her friends get something from the car.

I encounter many lone wolf one sets living here in Vegas. Use the same game you would on any normal set, or go in with a direct opener. The only difference is you cant DHV yourself in front of her friends. Lone wolf sets are much easier to approach. But since this Forum is for Mystery's group theory and not SS, I tend to focus on group sets unless I'm at the mall or Walmart.

What are some of these direct openers? I've been considering incorporating some direct game into my routine. Where is a good place to find some info and help on the direct approach?

i know PU101 teaches day game direct approach. One of the approaches they use is, "hey that shirt really brings out the color in you."

i havent tried it myself. i think one set girls are really hard at party and day game because you cant use group theory tactics. I think that pumping BT on a group set at a party more so than a single set.

Well if you are more comfortable with group set then open a near by set and pull them into the set.

Example use an opinion opener, then wave her over with the come here hand signal or say to her what do you think?

Basically the ideal is to bring her into the set. This works great because she is now in the set but she will not fully feel like she belongs there. Now she does not know if she should stay or leave after she answered your question. Also you do not have to worry about isolating her from the set as she was never truly a part of the set. Also she can not be rude or socially out of line as she will get blown out of the set and not you. Now everyone has answered the question I would them go into a routine. Say for example I decide to go into the magic trick stigmata I would then have her be the one that participates.

Now I used stigmata as a sample here. It is actually such a powerful effect that I do not use it to game often as it can seriously freak people out.

basically Stigmata the word has to do with Christ and people that have had strange marks apear on there hands, feet, arms etc... assosiated to the Crusification of christ.

This trick is a play on that and for example the pick a number between 1-10 that you saw in The book the Game. With this trick you have them hold your hand or wrist and squeeze. Then ask them to pick a # between 1-10, first number that pops in there head. then you have them let go and with in 2-5 seconds their # begains to apear in red on your arm. Simular to when your face turns red or you get sun burned but it is in the shape of their number.

Or you force a card hand them the deck the whole time have them shuffle what ever you never touch the deck again then like real magic the card appears in red on your skin.

That is Stigmata, can be done anywhere with no prep and no gimic.

It is almost too good though for pickup as I have made girls cry seeing it before, though the reaction is usually pretty good.

I do a lot of close up Chriss Angel type magic and a lot of Darren Brown type mentalism.

The video is about 45min to an hour, they show 15 mins or so of him proforming it. 5-10 more mins and you can basically do the trick. The proformance end may take longer to get right. The his style is, as you can see my hands are empty blah, blah, blah etc... My personal style when doing tricks is to let the effect do most of the speaking. So other than the required build up I let the effect wow them, to me that is the difference between metal magic and mentalism. Gives a more emotional feeling to the magic in my view.

This is not to knock the guy he has wrote tricks for Chriss Angel's Mindfreak, but Chriss takes it and then runs with it and makes it truely his. Also his tricks do not require anything fancy to do.

The downside is that most magicians/PUA's don't their tricks to be mainstream because it increases the chances that the HB will say: "seen it."

Exactly I have my own stuff that I will not share, but if there is a how too video for sell on it then yea why not share it. Its like openers if she has heard it or seen it I can always pull something else out of my hat so to speak. Have not meet anyone else that can make any item you hand me appear to catch fire, ingulfed in 3-4 ft flames then blow on it and the fire goes out the item is unharmed and I will let you take the item back and leave my hands wide open for full inspection, nothing up my sleves yada yada.

Oh and for those trying to figure it out I use no flash paper, cotton, or anything else I can not pick up at wal mart.

The lone target! Love it! Yup! you open just like you would any other set, but group dynamics are nonexistent, so she's more likely to be 'led' if you show that you are alpha enough. Her bitch shield on the other hand, is going to be up way higher than in a group. On the other hand, you don't have to contend with Amogs and CBs. Conversational dynamics are very important for the lone target (less tricks more banter)
