I'm having a lot of trouble it seems, figuring out exactly what it is I want to do.

In terms of career, how exactly does one know what is right for them? I've gone through a few careers in my head, thinking what would be right for me, but it's hard committing yourself to one career while thinking "what if this is not what I'm meant to be?"

The careers that stand out most for me are, Artist (Drawing/Animation), Art Teacher, and Police Officer (S.W.A.T).

I always have that little voice in my head that prevents me from making the move, and continue procrastinating. I can't do that anymore. I need to make a decision, but don't want to make the wrong one?

My main question is, how did you guys figure out what you were meant for and how did you go about figuring it out?

I know it's ultimately my decision, and one I will have to make, but it'd be cool to know more certainly what it is I want to do.

Life is not about "finding yourself" it is about creating yourself. From your post I could guess you are young? Most people change careers 4 times in a life. I was a Marine, Paramedic, Machinist, and now a Day Trader. I have degrees in Psychology and Physics. Don't worry too much that you are not decided one what you want to do. That is normal. Col. Sanders did not open KFC till he was 65, and Disney failed at over a dozen careers before finding his calling.

There is something called the Rocking chair test. Sit down close your eyes relax and imagine yourself 40 years down the road sitting in your rocking chair thinking back over your life. As yourself how taking a given path (or not taking one) would have changed your life. If you do this from deep inside you, it will five you the answers you seek.
