To shave or not to shave?

That is the question ( sorry cheap rip off of shakespeare there:) )

Anyway i've been reading several posts on the forum and there is some really cool ideas and knowledgeable people on these forums.

the question i wanted to ask though is should i shave my pubic hair or not?

the reason i find myself asking this slightly obscene question is when watching porno flicks, most of the time the male has a perfectly shaven genital area.

and a few thoughts/querys just sprung to my mind, these were:

1) the female must surely prefer a shaved male to an unshaven one?
2) but if you do shave it will grow back quicker, so therefore will one have to shave regurlary? (probably yes)
3) i once trimmed my pubic hair with scissors (slightly crazy but true:p ) and it did feel a little bit itchy for a few hours afterwards ( i think this is probably because whenever any hair is cut it feels 'different' afterwards so i'm not to bothered about the answer to this question but if anyone has any recommendations of any good balms or lotions then that'd be really cool:) )

The main question is though is surely women 'dig' and appreciate a shaven male to an unshaven one.

Here's the deal about shaving.

Personally, I do not recommend it. Yes the girl is not going to want to be flossing with your pubes when she goes down on you. However, if you shave it all off, you'll look like you're 12. Rather, trim it to a pretty low level. It will also make your tool look larger.

Not to mention, if you decide to shave, the ingrown hairs will be a bitch.

I shaved my pubic hair completely off ONCE, and it was the biggest pain in the ass when it started to grow back in, it was the itchiest thing in the world. I don't recommend it.

As far as I'm aware, as I certainly haven't field-tested this :P, shaving is a bad idea because of the in-growing hairs you get afterwards. Needles anyone? But i'm sure I heard somewhere that waxing, although obviously more painful to have done than shaving, prevents in-growing hairs. That's why girls are always recommended to wax rather than shave. If you do this, you must go to a professional for the first few times, for reasons beyond my knowledge. Though I can think of a few twisted ideas to share!

I once got one of my LTR's to shave, as I hate pubic hair on girls and refuse to go down on them until it's gone. She had to twease out in-growing hairs in the bath at least once a week, and will do for the rest of her life unless she lets it grow back to normal before shaving again, tweasing out all the in-growers until there are none. Needless to say, I enforce them all to wax after that!

But you will definitely want to check up on this. Waxing may only reduce the chance of in-growing hair rather than prevent it all-together. There's absolutely no harm in trimming though, or at least it hasn't harmed me :P

Trim is the best way to go. Get it nice and neat. I also shave the base of my shaft just to make it seem bigger lol. Cant believe im saying this ><. Anyway. DONT shave all of it. I never have problems with ingrowns on my shaft but everywhere else is a pain.

I mostly use a disposable razor, or just use some hair removal creams, and then just finish off the rest with a razor.

I shave my pubes regularly with a head shaver I bought from Fry's a while back...I usually shave it a 1 or a 2 depending on my mood. Women LOVE it and they dive right in as opposed to being timid and somewhat disgusted.

Also, you feel much cleaner and confident after you take a shower. Buy a head shaver and do the best you can..I recomend you stay away from razors of any kind :-) ahhh cuts? razor burn? the idea makes me uncomfortable, plus it makes you look as if you are pre-pubecent.

I trim mine. I would look like Chewy if I didn't since I am a really hairy guy. I use a thing called the Phillips Body Groomer. Picked it up at Target for about 30-40 bucks and it works great. If I had just a little hair on chest then I wouldn't even bother though.

I haven't read all 6 pages, but on the first ones many of you mentioned the growing-in (or in-growing? sry...not a native speaker) hairs.
I'm quite sure, that your hair won't grow faster or stronger after you've shoved it. It will only feel this way, because short hair always feels bristly. You can try this out with every object with an similiar shape, longt it feels soft, short bristly.
When it's long again it will feel normal.

But waxing still has an adventage. The hair is not only cut, it's eridicated. And hair growing back from the root of the hair is softer, the strenght will come with lenght.

But I'm not 100% sure, so if you have to know for sure, ask a person skilled in the art...a dermatologist or a worker in a waxing studio.

Personally.. I trimmed mine for years... And the last 5 years I've kept it shaved.. A pain to start at first, but after awhile.. It's a routine like shaving my face.. Takes no time to do everything now.. And in my experience.. Every chic has loved it. Not to mention it's much more sensitive to touch now, which is a nice bonus.. Like has already been posted repeatedly, it's best to TRIM it with a beard trimmer rather than shaving with a razor. No worries about in grown hairs or cutting yourself.

The only word of caution I'd have is this:

If you're hairy everywhere else, legs, chest, etc. do NOT shave your junk or it'll look like a garbage fire broke out in your crotch. That's a DLV. :p
