New Hairstyle -- Advice?

Hey guys,

I'm an 18 year old currently living in San Diego (though I'm going off to Santa Barbara next year for school), and I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what's going on style-wise. I generally do pretty well opening and closing, but my hair has always been kind of weird. I know that usually the problem with looks comes before approach/close problems, but I guess I'm just weird like that.

I know that a lot of people might be tempted to say "if it works, then just leave it!" but when you see the picture... well, you'll see that it's really not an option. It's way too messed up.

I'm considering going pretty short and styling with wax; that seems like it would work pretty well. Any recommendations?

UPDATE (which probably isn't that important since no one replied anyway...): I decided to get a waxed spikey look, pictures will be coming shortly--I also ran game on my HB9 (no joke!) hair stylist (who recommended the style) and successfully number closed. Woo! :)

I get a lot of compliments on my FoHawk and I believe it to be a form of Mysteries Peacocking. Most Meatheads think this to be Metro, which it is, and as we know, metro beats meathead. Skip Barber Shops. Go to HairCuttery or the like and tell them to do 3 on the sides, trim the crown, and long down the middle. They will give you a weird look but hold strong. Buy gel and hairspray. B4 you go out put a inch of gel in your hand, mix with both hands, and thread your fingers together on top of your head to form the FoHawk. Once formed, spray with hairspray. One last front to middle of back make sure there is more volume in the front of the hair then in the back. Last, push all the hair on the sides and side burns forward, this is not the 90's loose the mullet.

You: I am sorry you don't like it but I do love it. I am glad that you noticed it. What about it got your attention. What kind of haircut would you suggest for me.

Haha, your hair is a lot like mine actually if i let it grow too long - which i'm actually doing right now, I might end up having a stylist tell me what to do with it. Typically I do keep it short and just gel it, but i'm letting mine get long to experiment. I find that (and this might sound weird since its covering the majority of my hair) but if I wear a beanie or something it looks really nice, since some of it flairs out of the sides, an it goes with the rest of my style

Girls take the hat or beanie off a lot and start playing with my hair, especially if i'm sitting right next to them and I stop giving them attention and instead talk to another girl. It's their way of trying to get me talking to them again. My hair is straighter than yours though.

By the way, where are you in San Diego? I'm in rancho bernardo. I'll be a sophomore a SDSU this september.

Cut your hair much, much shorter. Or if you wish, tie it back.

I always advocated three on the sides, and a bit longer on top to easily style. It's all about what your identity is. If you're the hardcore gangsta, cut it all around to a 1 and give yourself a line up. If you're metro, then do the one I described, if you're a rocker, well then go nuts:)

I ended up going to a (pretty cheap) hairstyling place near my house and flirting with the (very attractive) stylist. She thought (and I agreed to) a fairly long spikey type hair do.

Although I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it, restyle it, cut it shorter or something altogether different, I've had it for a few days (I was on a trip away from the Internet so I couldn't see the replies) and so far I like it. It did take some getting used to though! ;)

I think you should have kept your hair longer personally because then you have got more to work with, this is coming from someone who's contemplating chopping off his long hair too :-)

I think im just trying to look for reasons NOT to cut off my long hair.

But yeah I like the new style also
