So, I was sitting in Costa Coffee on Monday morning, writing my notes about the weekend, in between sips of piping hot black coffee, with no sugar and an Alabama mud cake.
Recalling the weekend’s events, a sly smile came across my face, which developed into a full-blown laughter and nearly made me choke on my coffee. The vision of Viking filming Lindo in Borders, while Lindo was showing a ‘pop-up book of sex’, and explaining “Newbies, once you get good at the game, this is what you will be doing, with her legs up in the air” . . . it was probably the moment when I fell in love with Lindo.
Going back to Friday night, I decided not to sleep that night; instead I started reading a dated textbook on public speaking, and totally disregarded the number one rule. Do not write your speech word for word, unless you are a politician or a schoolboy reading out an essay. Apparently Winston Churchill did that, but his speeches were usually broadcasted on the radio, and he was much more adept at public speaking than poor old IceDragon, as he had the experience of rousing an entire nation for war. However, in my delusions at 3am on Saturday morning, I thought I was Winston Churchill, Demosthenes and Socrates all rolled into one.
Anyway, I drew on my own experience of the game, and word-processed all my thoughts, collecting examples from real life, and situations, which I had been told by others. My presentation was ready. I showered, got ready, and got dropped off at the airport by my brother, where I met Mist, his gorgeous girlfriend and his auntie, who had come to wave him a tearful goodbye. I got a hug from his girlfriend, and a nice kiss from his auntie, which set me up for the rest of the day. We both grabbed a hot chocolate, while waiting for our flight, and had an in depth chat. Arriving at Birmingham, we got a subway sandwich, and got picked up by Cheeky’s friend, who has a taxi.
The Hyatt Hotel was impressive, and we arrived in the middle of Brainfreez’s excellent presentation, where the students were doing a visualization technique. Met Craze, Phoenix, Gem and Magnus at the door. The whole presentation and organisation was impressive. Cheeky and Lindo certainly put a lot of thought and effort into the whole event. Magnus did a brilliant talk on his tapping style, which everyone participated in. After lunch, Cheeky got the audience to play some fun conversational games, and got everyone in a fun mood.
It was my turn to take the stage. My intention was to stand in the middle, in front of the screen, and hold my notes in my hands, but it would have looked really bad, because my hands decided to start shaking! So, I put the notes down, and started reading them out . . . I soon realised, watching some students yawn, and look at the floor, ceiling, anywhere but towards me that I would make a catastrophic error if I continued . . . so I ditched my notes, and, as Lindo would put it, decided to ‘free-style’ it. I noticed an improvement in the audience mood, and started enjoying it myself as well.
In an audience containing the likes of Harlequin, Craze, Magnus, Phoenix, Brainfreez and Gem (and Swagger, I later found out), if I had thought about the magnitude of what I was doing, I’d probably have frozen like a rabbit in the headlights. Luckily, my mind cleared and I focused on what I had to say.
Deepvertigo came on after me, and did an excellent talk on direct game. I have known Deepvertigo for around 4 months, when we both helped out at the Mystery Method Bootcamp together. We have become good friends, and I believe that Deepvertigo is the best guy I have ever seen for day-game. His style of direct game is unique, and I have learned an incredible amount from him.
Gem came on, and did an energetic talk about the basics, and instilled a powerful belief into the whole audience, which visibly changed after Gem had finished. I have seen Gem in action before, at the Scotland Lair Super Seminar, and we all warmed to him. I know that the CEL benefited tremendously, from his knowledge.
Craze joined him and explained some new concepts, like the attraction circle, etc. Phoenix jumped on stage too, and gave some great tips, and imparted some priceless advice, which everyone noted down.
Mist did his bit, and I had spoke to him about it at the airport and on the plane, and knew it was going to be impressive. Mist has helped countless guys with inner game, and taking his confidence exercises on board, will help get you in state, whenever you want.
Throughout the talks, Craze and Phoenix gave excellent input, which added an invaluable gloss onto everyone’s presentations.
Cheeky and Lindo came on to give some excellent, motivational advice to everyone, and covered a lot of basics, and explained various approaching techniques, getting into state, etc.
Then, Harlequin arrived. An unexpected, surprise guest speaker. I was literally stunned and awestruck by this legend. I had met him once, but he didn’t talk much about the game, so this was a moment when I had to really concentrate and take in everything he was saying, and it all made so much sense. Some things, which I was not clear about, were clarified. Apart from the theory he was imparting, there was a lot to learn from his general demeanour, body language, expressions, poise, etc.
The seminar portion had ended, Craze asked Mist and myself to come and talk to him outside, he was very blunt. ‘Do you two want to work for Alpha Interactions?’. In unison, we both said ‘Yes!’. So, he hugged us both, and took us inside and announced us as Alpha Interaction’s newest instructors.
All the instructors for the seminar came up, and we all applauded the audience.
We left, and went back to the hostel, had dinner (pizza), and headed out to a club called Oceana, where we had booked a VIP room (2 originally, but then something mix-up happened).
The night was great, we all did some high energy dance-floor game, and the DJ announced “what is going on, on the dance floor?!’.
I did sets with some students. However, there was one student who did not want to approach, claiming ‘girls did not find him attractive’. Both Magnus and Deepvertigo spent an hour each talking to him, but to no avail. Craze winged him, but he wandered off. I did some sets with him, opened a brunette Spanish girl for him, was about to introduce him, but I turned around, and he had disappeared.
Anyway, it was a great night; Oceana is an amazing club with limitless sets.
Mist got opened all night, because of his kilt, and he got really fed up of it after a while!
The next morning, we met in the hostel lobby, and went out to do some day-game. It was great fun. At one point I said to Viking ‘normal people go to a bookshop to look at books, we go to a bookshop and think ‘it’s really dead in here, lets move on!’.
The student from last night, who believed he was ‘unattractive to women’, got proved wrong. At least 3 women said that he was good-looking. Believe in yourself, mate. You lack nothing, and you can get the woman you desire.
It was a great weekend, and a big well done to Cheeky, Lindo and Brainfreez for organizing such an inspiring event.
