You should hit up a gym. And I would run more if I were you, a mile a day isnt much at all.
But good job man, keep it up.

Do the ab exercises less frequently (or not at all) and spend more time running if want to lose your gut.
It is a common misconception that ab exercises will target fat loss near your midsection. There is no metabolic connection between fat cells located near a muscle as opposed to those located farther away, in much the same way that the location of the gas tank in your car has no effect on gas mileage.
Also, if you are going to exercise your abdominals, they need rest just like every other muscle group in your body, so you shouldn't work them two days in a row.

You shouldn't use other people as a standard for how far or how often you should be running. Some people are natural distance runners and some people are already in much better shape. Three miles a week is a great place to start from. Focus on consistency and steady improvement instead.
Running everyday is overkill. If you really want to exercise six days a week, do other activities like weightlifting or sports. But again, consistent progress is what you want. If you're going from very little activity to daily exercise, you are going to hurt yourself unless you ease into it over a period of months.
And most of your weight loss is going to come from a healthy diet, not from exercise.

I don't know of any good websites offhand, but if you have any specific questions after you do a little searching on your own I'd be happy to help.
And stay away from low carb diets. Total bullshit.

I did a low carb diet a year and a half ago and went from 235 lbs to 185 lbs in 3 months (I'm 6'2). I have tried to eat healthy since then and for the most part have kept all the weight off.

How few carbs? I was referring to the really, really low carb diets advocated by Atkins.
I agree that eliminating the carbohydrates in foods that have no other nutritional value is a great way to reduce your calorie consumption.
