Since I'm rather new to this forum I have no clue if this or something alike has been posted before but I thought I'd share this opener with you lot. If this should be old material then my sincere apoligies for wasting your time..

Last saturday I went out in town with a couple of friends and in a bar I noticed a HB8 without company so decided to give it a go and open. Since I had a few drinks and felt kinda lukcy decided to try something new just for shits and giggles. Below a brief breakdown:

*All the below I brought with the most serious/sincere face I can put up*

Me: excuse me miss, I have a slight problem and was wondering if you'd be willing to help me out?
HB8:?
Me: I'm not from here and went out with some friends but I kinda lost them after I got back from the restroom.. when I wanted to grab my mobile to give them a call I noticed I lost. Hopefully it is somewhere on the dancefloor so I was wondering if you could give me a ring to see if something lights up?
HB: Eh well I guess *reaches for mobile*
Me: thanks

So HB8 gets her phone, I direct her the numbers to enter and she starts ringing. After a few secs I get my mobile out of my pocket while I try to act surprised:

Me: ah thank god, here it is
HB8: what??? You just had it over in your pocket? *Atm HB8 was totally flabbergasted*
Me: yea, how silly! guess I must have overlooked it in all anxiety. How embarrasing... but thanks a lot for your help! I better get going now to look for my friends before they leave on me

After this I turned around in order to take of in the hope she'd probably get back to me since this must have looked like the most cheesy way ever to get someone's #. So she did, as I made my first stepst HB8 pats me on the back saying 'wait':

HB8: Excuse me but since I don't know you and all you kinda have my number now, so what are you going to do with it?
Me: Ah I'm sorry, I see what you mean... but what gives you the idea I had the intention to do something with it?
HB8: well ehm... I don't know?
Me: Well I guess since you have been so helpfull to me, it'd be fair to reward you with a drink some day to give you the chance to get to actually know me
HB8: *laughs* you're a funny guy you know that...
Me: *smiled at her*

Next thing what happended is that I introduced myself properly and vice versa. For about 5 I stayed and had a nice chat with the girl. In the end I reached for my phone and told her I'd put in her name since we weren''t strangers anymore and she did the same.

Since I put in a false time constraint upfront this also gave me a perfect opportunity to leave the set since I was supposed to look for my friends. So I walked off with and said I'd give her a call someday when I was around and she agreed.

Must say the moment she called me back was kinda exciting as she appeared to be a little shocked she just gave out her number to a total stranger. Since I replied with a neg and acted like I wasn't really interested in anything else then just be able to catch up with my friends, think this made me pull it off. This may have been kinda risky since there was a good chance to get blown out for being a creep but the look on her face when I picked up my mobile right out of my pocket.. that was comedy gold!

Haha this opener is great, I think it would be even better if when you take your cell out of your pocket, you keep a serious face on and talk to her over it - introducing yourself etc. "Hello? .... Who is this?!"

Sounds good, but a few flaws i can see in it, what about if she doesnt have credit to call your phone or if she puts her number on private before giving your phone a ring.
