View Full Version : Bootcamps?
Now, as everyone knows boot camps are one of the quickest ways to get better in your game, but consequently they also happen to be one of the most expensive. I unfortunately have yet to take one as I am but a broke college student, and I don't have two thousand on hand. Now, I do plan on taking one, as well, I'd like to learn from a master, but I'm unsure as to which one. Personally I'd like to learn from Mystery himself, but theres no way I hell I could come up with that kind of cash. So I leave it to you my fellow forum members, what are your experience with various ones you have taken? What are the pros and cons? Maybe you guys can help me narrow down my choice. ; ) Anyway discus away.

Find your local lair, meet up with some expeirienced people and start sarging.
Im in college to, so I also dont have money for a bootcamp (i might take one eventually if the instructors are advanced enough though). I started my newbie mission back in june. At 6 months I was at over 800 sets. I still sarge but i consider my trip across the country to meet someone more advanced the end of my newb. Approached over 50 sets in 2 days and learned how to bathroom pull.
Point is, its up to you to improve yourself, not a company. There only going to help.
True, True. The closest lair to me is about a 2 and a half hour drive or so. I've done plenty of approaches, and while no way am I a master, I'm ok at this. The idea behind a bootcamp for me is the speed thing. People I know who've taken bootcamps get quicker faster. Plus I also thought with the pros and cons idea, that this thread could turn into a nice little refrence for narrowing down which bootcamp is right for anybody who wishes to view it.
In my expierence, the more expierenced guys stay away from the lairs because they know the lairs are going to be full of newbies with no game looking to sarge with them and they dont want newbies following them around in field. In fact one of my Bootcamp instructors told us fuck the lair, we're so far ahead of them now after a BC theyll just hold you back.
In some select citys it might be different but thats how I see it.

LOL- It's funny because it is sadly true.
When I found out there was a lair in Ireland I thought it would have the creme de la creme of alpha guys with supreme game. Nothing could have been further from the truth.
Typically, Lairs have a tendency to be magnets for young nerds with zero game and awful social skills. Certianly being spotted with them in the field is a huge DLV so most of the good guys don't bother posting anymore or go sarging with them. Most of the newbies disappear after a couple of months anyway.
Having sad that,I did meet a couple of cool guys with excellent game who became good friends of mine over time so Lairs do have their merits.

I pretty much only wing with people that I either know personally or who have taken some kind of bootcamp... all my experiences with lairs/forum meetups have been horrible.
I sarge with friends also. It's a good way to get practice, but usually your friend will be at a similar level, so you won't be able to rely on them for instruction.

Ditto, and yea the problem is that we're all about the same level give or take few things, they'll be better at somethings, and according to them I have no approach anxiety at all,(God knows how wrong they are, but it's good to know it looks that way.) but it's all about the same level. So it becomes hard to learn off of them.
