Because of the fact that their overhead costs are so small. They pretty much only need to pay for their website, possibly some internet marketing and a seminar room.

Don't forget travel expenses (hotel, airfare, taxi, food) for getting instructors from city to city. But it is just like any knowledge/service based industry. They are teachers and their product is their knowledge.

But you're right. If I felt I was really ready for it, I could advertise and put together a local seminar or something and make a lot of profit from it. The real trick is that guys who drop $4k in a weekend....that can add up pretty quick too. I'd love to be a coach someday. Travel and helping others. What better job can you think of.

Great Idea.

There's only one problem - in order for you to make money, you have to do the work repeatedly. Once you stop, the money stops.
