Sheriff, help with venues in oxford!

Sheriff, i am trying to pull together all the sargers in oxford, and my ideal aim, is have someone sarging every day of the week.

Can you help me compile the best venues to go for, on everyday of the week, from monday through to sunday, and highlight anything which is particulary good?

There are so many venues in oxford, none of us know which are the best on which each days.

Can you help?

It's really important to get yourself a student card - the best nights all happen as student nights.

Monday Night: Brookes Night / S.E.X. at Park End - it rocks
Tuesday Night: Bridge
Wednesday Night: Jongluers / Risa
Thursday Night: Bridge or Park End
Friday: Purple Turtle, or take your chances with the locals anywhere else
Saturday: Ditto - there's a few little bars in Jericho that are worth hitting up, like Raouls, that are small but have hot sets, and while I find it too loud and crowded, Frevd often has hot sets in, and some guys swear by it...

Befriend some Oxford students, and try and get invited along to the 'bops' at their colleges, and go out in a group with them to venues where they already know people. I used to hang out with a couple of girls who ran one of the college bars, and that worked out well for me.

Let me know if you have any big ones planned, and I'll see what I can work out about coming down...

i just met up with some of the guy you relayed my way. they are oxford uni guys, and they were talking about 'bops', wtf is a bop?

I am in the process of getting a student card, right now.

once i have pulled together the sargers in oxford, and something is going down, i give you a shout.

Also man, if you are in town, give me a shout, we'll go out.

Hi Gambit

I live near Oxford and have been out in Oxford a few times. The new castle complex has quite a few hot sets on Fridays and saturdays and Thursdays too. I like All Bar one too as well as the Grand Cafe which is normally a coffee shop but at night turns into a good bar but teh drinks are slightly expensive! I was in there last Thursday night and there were plenty of sets but I only managed to approach the barmaid as I was with my work mates.
Also check out the Oxford retreat which is a pretty chilled bar near the Bridge with some good sets. Thirst isn't too bad but maybe abit small for my liking so i guess it all depends what time you go.

I've been in the community since March and my skills are improving but i seem to have more success in Day game, althought I want to get night game sorted out too.
