I have been away from the internet for awhile, since last semester ended and I was surprised to hear the news. I asked myself, "Is that possible? Can Mystery get out of his own Mystery Method."
Oh well. The answer doesnt matter. As long as as we all learn from each other.
So as my first post I want to post a roleplaying routine that I saw once in the movie, 'Before Sunrise.' It probably has been posted in other forums... I dont know. But it hasnt been posted in this forum. The last time I did this was this past Tuesday with this HB8 that I met in line at McDonalds on New Year's Eve.. I opened with, "And how are you doing today?" Then I followed with "So what did Santa Clause give you for Christmas?"
So on the phone this past Tuesday, I say, "Ok, this is what we're gonna do now. We're gonna pretend that we're calling our best friend. So I pretend that I call my best friend. And you pretend that you are my best friend. And vice versa. So the content of the conversation is 'Hey, I met someone.' Ok I start.... Ring... Ring... Ring... this is where you pick up the phone... Ring...Ring... Ring..." So she picks up. What usually happens is that the girl will usually put a guys voice. Its hilarious. And when you do it, you put a squeeky girl voice. I had her laughing like crazy.
But the purpose of it all is just to reeenact how you guys met and how you felt when you first met. Its a perfect way to qualify her. She asked me, "And what do you think of her?" I used the line, "Well her first impression sucked. But Im starting to realize there is more to her. I mean she gets a bit annoying, but in a good way. You know what I mean, bro..."
It's also a great way to find out what she likes about you. While I was pretending to be her friend on the line, I asked her, "What do you like most about him?" She said, "Well he's very charming and he always has interesting stories to tell."
I love this routine as part of a Comfort routine. It creates a pretty cool connection.
