Hey folks.Ive been following the game, and thus have learned many skills like time constraints, negs, etc.Here's a time, however, when I 'did' these things without knowing it. Hope this helps other newcomers see how to apply what you learn. :)
To the FR:I work at an electroics store in a local mall, with a Gloria Jeans literally next door. I never go there, as its always crowded and the coffee's pricey .Until I go to work one Tuesday night, and on the verge of falling asleep from the boredom , grab a 10 minute drink break from my boss.For some procedural reason, I couldn't get a full break, so I step next door to grab something cheap and caffinated, and mentally I stop in my tracks: Ive never seen so much crap on an overhead menu ever, and while on my own I'd probably pick something out, I cant waste my break time choosing a "Cafe Macchiato" from a " Cafe Venti".Plus I was looking stupid standing alone besides the chick behind the counter. So I ask her , verbatim " What is the best drink you got?"
Her: "Oh, its this cafe something or other...."
She goes on for about two minutes describing the drink . Remember I'm looking for something 'CHEAP', as in not $8.50 with tax. I ask, playfully, "So, how much is this super drink gonna cost me? "
"Free"
Huh?Oh snap.....
Using my cocky voice "So what's this drink made of?" ( never was a good listner lol...)
Her: "Its made with love" ( verbatim )
Shizznits.Im standing there , work shirt and pants ,and ive run across a fool's mate.Pity that upon further conversation , Elizabeth was 17 and graduating from high school. I ejected by saying ( truthfully) my boss was gonna have my a$$ for taking 30 minutes to walk next door for a large coffee.
She was attractive in a way that didn't say 17 years old. I give her a 7.8 ( only cause of work clothes lol..) I try to date chicks my own age,and high school age girls can tend to be , ahem, immature.
But the sheer exercise was thrill enough. What I took away from this,in light of what I now know about the game, is this:
In day game with chicks at work,just be spontanious.This is your greatest ally, as on a boring day of work, being exciting instantly distinguishes you and makes you memorable, versus having to compete in a club scene. When dealing with chicks at work, say something cocky about the food , the menu, or whatever. This is where the three-second rule helps, as if I'd given my initial comment."What is the best drink you got?" any deep thought, I would have rejected it as too rude. At that point I didn't really care about being polite, and that pays off in working game. Like Mystery says, if you crash and burn hit reset. Or go to another Starbucks location :D
Another lesson is timing . I had the blessed advantage of being in the cafe on a dead Tuesday night. If youre in the place on a Saturday morning, youre realistically not gonna have enough time to run good game before the person behind you gets pissed and blows you out. So ,to set the battlefield to your advantage, choose a time you KNOW will be dead . Absolutely boring. And while running game, make your time scarce. Using a time constraint allows you to game , and roll.I did this 'accidentally' because of a 'REAL' time constraint, my brief break time. Unlike a club, neither you or she is in control of her surroundings. Cant take her to a different atmospere or place cause she's at work. Best to blow her away, and walk before a customer ( or her boss) comes in and she loses state.Use anchoring as well, one of those ideas that hit me only in hindsight, grab something job-related but innocent, say a sharpie pen or something, and you'll have the advantage of her thinking about you every time she's at work,AKA almost every day.:)
