Peacocking = shit test?

Hello all. I've come today to ask you guys on your opinion on wearing peacocking items (and the shit test you must pass with the women who open you). Just last night I went out with a friend and decided to try wearing handcuffs around the belt line. As usual (with anything ballsy) you notice people looking at you weird and some even laughing. However, when I did get opened about it, the girl said, 'Why are you wearing handcuffs?'

Sure enough my answer sucked....but I just wanted to ask you guys whats the best WAY to respond to this initial shit test. Depending on what you say right then and there determines whether they will wallk away and laugh or be intrigued. BC I've noticed the same thing happened when i wore a cowboy hat out as well (however the cowboy hat is easier item to respond to).

So my question is, when you do get opened when wearing an outrageous item, is it usually a shit test to see whether you're 'cool' enough or not to wear it. If so, whats the most effective way to respond to the 'So why are you wearing X' question?

For each thing you wear for peacocking ya need to have at least three answers. Two funny cocky answers and one which sounds plausible.
an example with Mysteries goggles for the two smart ass reasons
HB:Why are you wearing goggles?

Mystery: In case you spit
Mystery: So when you bore me to tears they don't run down my face.

A woman will very rarely come out with a negative comment while she's on her own if she actually means it so this is a case of the,
HB: I really hate your shirt
Mystery: No you don't you're attracted to me.

If she has a friend with her,
HB: Why are you wearing that hat?
PUA:to hide my bald spot (I have a lot of long hair so this is funny, it would be just as funny if I completely shaved my head)
HB:Well it looks stupid
PUA:(to friend) Is she always like this?/Omg she is such a bitch to me! etc

Lol the above 2 responses are the way to go. I wore a hat and braces and all manner of other things to college (Pre-game days) I used to get some stick from all the Chodes, When a guy said "Why are you wearing that hat!?" I looked at him like he was violating some fundamental social rule and replied "Why are you NOT wearing a hat!?"

or for the chicks, look them up and down and say (In example the girl is wearing flaired jeans) "Because that flaired jeans 70's vibe is just soooo last summer!"

You can have some real fun with peackocking stuff;

"Why are you wearing those handcuffs on your belt?"
"Hold out your hands and I'll show you"

"Why are you wearing those handcuffs?"
"because the ball and chain is too heavy to dance in/because the rest of the chain gang made it safe in the breakout"

(It doesn't matter if the cuffs are on your belt, any crazy reply with good energy works).

LOL on a similar theme, most party shops sell "Thumb cuffs" which are just really small handcuffs. Wear some where they'll get noticed on clothing and when asked about them say "They're for catching really small criminals".

Pick a couple of favourites from the list of replies and re-word them to your own situation... after a while you get used to people calling you on your peacocking stuff and you'll get a feel for natural, spontaneous responses.
