Thanks Mystery,
These were definitely words of encouragement. I'm currently part-time at a local bank and taking 15 hours in college.I have four major goals to obtain by the end of March. To volunteer and give back to the community, hit the gym daily, start a martial arts class, and start a yoga class. It's just a matter of squeezing in each one into my schedule. The gym will be daily, first thing in the morning before work or class, volunteering will be on day on the weekend, yoga and martial arts will be at night, separate days from each other. It's just a matter of piecing it in one at a time and make sure my focus isn't diverting from school work too much in the process.
I was actually inspired by the book Eat Pray Love to live "vita ut plenus" (life to the fullest) and I'm about to start blogging about it so those interested can see my journey and may decide to follow.

This is very effective. I do not know about vomiting while doing cardio, but perhaps you need to get used to the routine.

@Luke RE: Diet

Eat after the hour is over. The contents of the meal should be a lot of protein and carbohydrates.

Food options:
Cereal + Milk
Eggs
Nuts
Beans
Pasta
Rice
Fruit
Bread (toasted?)

Pick three or four of the options. The whole breakfast shouldn't take much more than 5-15 minutes to make. ;-)

Note that the food options are pretty much the same for anytime of the day. Breakfast is where you need energy, but you need the same thing for lunch, so your options actually should be the same.
For dinner, it is best to go lighter on the carbs and protein and heavy on nutrient dense foods like fruit and nuts. The reason for this is that you do not need many calories at dinner because you are going to sleep in a bit.

Okay, that's the simple of it. Good luck, have fun...nr 15. (Couldn't help it.)

Hey Ryan,

since the whole of the British Army do most of their exercise early morning, I promise you it is just a matter of adjusting. I must admit when I started teaching Army PT many moons ago and it was always bloody first thing, I constantly felt like I had morning sickness lol. I then started having a light breakfast to put something in my stomach about 20-30 mins before running and after about 2 weeks the sickness went away. Now am able to to just get up, drink a glass of warm water and off I go, but if it is going to be really strenuous, I still recommend the light breakfast.

Also don't forget that by exercising in the morning, your metabolic rate functions better helping you burn my fat throughout the day more naturally and will give you higher energy levels throughout the day too, not to mention increased metal alertness late in the afternoon when we normally start to flag.

Anyhows give it a try brother and let me know how you get on.

Wow, what a discovery! I think it was no coincidence that I chose to read this article as the first of many to come. I just stumbled over the ebook version of "The Secret" and am familiar with the insights, and was already implementing some of them when I woke up 45 minutes ago. And I've started, but not finished Anthony Robbins book "awaken the giant within" a few years ago and have been living a stable life since. I will now use both plus this article to do my own daily power hour so that I may attract the positive energy I need to get through the day. And for the guy above who had a question about what to eat. Eat something energizing, and healthy and helps you think, things like eggs, oatmeal, dairy products such as fruit smoothies, and whole grain cereals. Goodluck to all and thanks Discovery for the article.

Whenever I do 30 minutes of cardio in the morning like every other damn article recommends, I wind up almost vomiting and feeling tired and crappy for the rest of the day. This power hour is a great way to powerfully make your day worse :)

I have the Tony Robbins collection, and was familiar with this idea. The way you broke it down is outstanding. My hour turned into a session remembering where I was lacking and how I had to work harder, thus a negative session which stopped occurring. This is a great reminder of how to do it properly and that it is supposed to be relaxing and fun.
